A lady has sparked online debate after claiming that men, particularly in Abuja, are also gold diggers, just like many women.

In a detailed post, she shared her experience since moving to the city, saying she had initially been skeptical of the claims about men seeking women for financial gain.

“It is happening. Before I came to Abuja I didn’t believe it. When they told me Abuja men are this and that I didn’t believe it. I’m not the type to judge till it came to me,” she wrote.

She described how men would ask to know where she lived, whether she lived alone, and how much she had, with the ultimate goal of requesting money.

She added that while women are often accused of spending men’s money, men also engage in similar behaviour, seeking partners to leech from financially.

This is real. Even as a guy, I've made Abuja friends and connections through TikTok live. This is typical Abuja guys scripts not all though but many attempted to fleece me but failed. I later learnt that this particular guy duped and scammed a lot of females who joined his TikTok live. A lady confessed to me that the guy was notorious for requesting ladies living in Abuja addresses, he would visit them, request for food prepared at home, most time claim to be stranded so he could pass the night, and attempt to sleep with them most times successfully. The finally start requesting loans and financial support in the guise of medical bills, charity outreach, house rent etc..

As a citizen who have lived in Abuja for several years and counting, these assertions made by this young lady is very correct
