Please the 3 month, is it the duration the money must stay in your account or just a statement of inflow and outflow?

Fraih:
As a sponsor, I have used 3 months statement to invite a visitor

Good day all. Pls i got a mail saying "we are unable to process your application and reach a decision within the published timelines" then they listed several reasons as the possible cause of delay including; verification of documents, too many applications being processed, more information required, etc. However they also stated that they are still working on it and will contact me if they need further info.

It is a Standard Visitor Application for 6 months that was submitted exactly 2 weeks ago today so its not even up to the 15 working days they stated.

Has anyone come across this situation pls?
@manlikechims bros any thoughts on this please

Majorly showing that the account is active and that despite the inflow or outflow, the money in the account is still enough to sponsor the trip

@ faith

If both the sponsor and applicant submitted 3months statements of account, hope it will not cause rejection? As anyone experience it before and was successful

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by BruceXavier:
I have an observation, and I am open to other perspectives. Is it me or has the number of people coming to this channel to make enquiry for visit visa reduced significantly? In the past this channel used to be very active, with people either sharing their visa approvals, refusals, complaint about waiting period, or booking appointment, etc. But recently this channel can sometimes be inactive for as much as 2days. Is it safe to assume that while the criteria for standard visit visa hasn't changed, the recent changes to student and immigrant visas has a direct effect on non-immigrant visa applications? or did people suddenly find the UK undesirable for tourism? Are people outsourcing more to agents? Is it the economy? Although as much as I can remember there has never been a time Nigerians collectively agreed the economy was great. We only speak about the good times in hindsight never in the present. What's your take or observation?

Please, who has had any experience with reconsideration?
My mom's visa was initially denied, I sent a complaint for reconsideration, didn't get any feedback so I reapplied. What do I do in this case

The English is self-explanatory. Withdraw your new application.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by killaskillz: 3:01pm On Dec 09, 2025
What are the chances of the reconsideration being successful? I feel the new application has a stronger case, plus I wouldn't get a refund and can't tell how fast the reconsideration would be. Is it wise and possible to withdraw the reconsideration instead and let the new application through? Need advice

There's no other advice you need than the email you received.

Can you pls follow the instructions and withdraw the new application?
I already told you that the last application’s refusal was baseless. This email in itself is confirmation that they are looking at it.

I believe it should not
In my case, only the sponsor’s statement was used but I have read of people who used both sponsor and applicant, yet it was approved.

Please, I have an invitation to attend a conference in the UK in May 2026. It is my first time to apply for a Visa outside Africa. I have travelled to 6 other African countries.
1. Please what is the reasonable monthly turn over my account should have?
2. What is the reasonable account balance?
3. Can a Nigerian write to sponsor me or it has to be someone in the UK?
Thanks

A conference is non essential travel and is not compulsory to attend physically as many centres allow online/virtual attendance.
They would expect you to fully sponsor yourself to go attend a conference if at all, they would consider you.
There’s no way to understand that an adult man wants to leave their country for a conference and needs someone to sponsor them.
What if things go wrong? Then you will be stranded and access public funds. Red flag.
So check your finances and your travel history.
How much you earn monthly, your strong ties to Nigeria and how many of such conferences have you gone for successfully and back and what will be the impact of the conference on your work or career or both.?? It must be linked to personal or career development goals.
These are just 2 of the minimum requirements you should meet.

Good morning everyone.
Please my visa was refused based on transaction that they quoted that are not explained but I never did such transactions on that date.
Also they compared my expense in Dec 2024 to the monthly expenses. I did not provide statement for 2024. The statement i provided was from may 2025 to Oct 2025.
Please what can I do cos these facts are not in my application and baseless.
Can I complain for reconsideration as there is no evidence of their claims

@ Akintola thanks again

1) These salary and living expenses figure is it the same with the figure you use for ur mum in her first application?

2) Did you do budget analysis of the £2000 eg flight, food or you just write £2000 without doing analysis?

I want to no if salary and living expenses of self-employed business person can change in there subsequent application

[quote author=Goodluck70000 post=137748611]No the salary and her expenditure was not the same as her first application because her salary increased and definitely her expenditure increased.

Also, i didn't do the analysis of the £2,000. I just wrote an invitation letter and stated there that i'll be paying for her flights when her visa is confirmed and she'll be staying at my address which i added my water bill just to proof my address.

Thanks very much. The conference is professional and I have attended similar conferences in Kenya and South Africa years back. i did not spend more than 2 weeks each.
On my ties to the country: I lead a religious organisation and I am on the Trustees board. Also, I sit on the director board of an educational organisation (shareholder). Married with children, all schooling in Nigeria presently.
I am not on salary, but I earn close to 450k monthly, but have irregular earnings that could shoot above or slightly below 1M some months. Averagely my monthly account turn over is between 2-2.5M

With UK visa your account can not be as you have described. You would have very very low chances especially because you want to attend a conference. Nope, they will look for reasons and deny you because you can attend the conference virtually.
For purpose of trip and finances and irregular earnings, unfortunately your profile is not promising
