SugarPg:A friend of mine own is still showing "under analysis" on his SCBA profile and the status in his direct link profile is showing "?" |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by OluPalmer: 5:18am On Dec 15, 2025 |
Still under analysis but a handful of people are starting to see “application approved” and a full computation of their benefits. I’m guessing that’s an indication of them getting selected. Anyways, there’s still three more days so fingers crossed. XY01: |

Good day, @SugarPg and everyone. I'm reaching out for assistance with a matter. I recently got admission to UFSM, Brazil and my supervisor mentioned a possible scholarship during the interview. I requested a sponsorship letter for visa processing last week, and they agreed to send it as soon as possible. I'm unsure about the content and whether it will cover my expenses. Should I wait for the sponsorship letter or proceed with preparing my Proof of Funds? The resumption date is March 5, and I'd appreciate any guidance or advice. Thank you. Additional info: My supervisor mentioned a possible scholarship multiple times during the interview, and I'm hoping it's confirmed in the sponsorship letter. If I receive the letter, I'll know if I need to prepare POF or not. Looking forward to your insights. |

Beforenow:Do not wait Prepare your POF now while waiting for the letter. Once the sponsorship letter arrives: If it clearly confirms funding, use it If not proceed with POF without delay |

@SugarPg please can Globus bank be used for Brazil proof of funds |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by DAramis: 1:20pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
Beforenow:I will advice you to prepare you proof of fund as backup for the letter of sponsorship you will get. No harm in doing that. By the way, are you going for Msc or PhD? |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by SugarPg(m): 2:59pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
contact your supervisor and confirm the type of scholarship(Bolsa) and the amount, it doesn`t take much to discuss these things. Brazilian professors are very friendly and easy-going. If your supervisor have a personal project with funding, he would inform you, if it is departmental scholarship under CAPES or CNPQ he will let you know also. personal project scholarship is quite higher than CAPES, some Msc students get as high as R$5000 depending on the funding agency. Confirm from him and tell him to indicate the scholarship(Bolsa) in the admission letter. March resumption is still far, don`t be in a rush, getting your admission letter with scholarship makes the process easier, so just be calm and communicate with your supervisor. Beforenow: |

For those preparing towards March resumption, use these 3 months to do the following; 1. Learn the Portuguese language through Youtube and other platforms. Do not wait till you arrive Brazil, the course work can be overwhelming and it becomes difficult to create time. learn the basics at least. 2. learn how to prepare presentation on Google slides and research report writing on docs/PDF. Students are not scored based on one-off exam like in Nigeria, they use tests, article reports, laboratory experiments reports and performance in presentation. |

Hello everyone, if I want to start admission processing for master’s in Brazil within this month, is it possible legalisation of document can be done as soon as possible too or will it affect the admission or visa processing later? |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by Mee346: 8:22am On Dec 16, 2025 |
Digbick:Yes, you can start admission now No, delayed legalisation will not harm admission Legalisation is mainly for visa and enrollment Just ensure it’s done before visa submission ... |

Hello everyone! Good morning. Thanks to everyone who for their inputs concerning traveling and the likes. Please I want to make serious enquiries about Brazil. First of all I have just my WAEC certificate from 2022(Science courses) . I’m 26 years old , will be 27 next year. I have been doing business here in Nigeria since after secondary school, but now I really need to push my life to the next level. I have read a lot of things about Brazil and I’ll like to give myself a chance there . Please what would be the best entry point for me ? Should I get into the country as a Tourist first ? And then switch to student visa ? I really want to go school, I love education. Another option would be to try and get admission into the schools in Brazil from Nigeria for an undergraduate program. What would be my best option considering by age . Also I’m aware that Portuguese language is very important when considering living and studying in Brazil . I really need help with your advices , thank you . |

OluPalmer:I stayed up to check but there has been nothing till now. I wonder what the issue is. |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by ihavesense: 1:38pm On Dec 18, 2025 |
greatmh:I think it’s because of the large numbers of applicants that appeared on the previous list they released. Over 3.8k and now they must reduce it down to less than 1k as I learnt. This could be the reason why it’s taking them so long. |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by OluPalmer: 7:29pm On Dec 18, 2025 |
A couple more people have started seeing application-approved on their SCBA profile, particularly Nigerians. Are you getting any info on that from your end? I think the selection is winding up atp. XY01: |

| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by OluPalmer: 8:48pm On Dec 18, 2025 |
Interesting! When did you get the email, and do you already have admission to the school, separate from your application to CAPES for scholarship? greatmh: |
| Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by greatmh: 9:59pm On Dec 18, 2025 |
OluPalmer:I got the mail this afternoon and no, I do not have any other admission. I looked up the prof though. He is a prof at a school that’s not even my first or second choice. I guess he may be a reviewer. I’m just curious. I replied almost immediately anyway. |

You don't see the benefits of studying in Brazil but you are applying to study there. You said from "experience" it's expensive to go there? Which experience if i may ask? Have you lived there? There are several countries you can choose from since you have so much pessimism about Brazil erico2k2: |
