For your spouse to be eligible for a spousal open work permit, you must go for a master’s program of at least 16 months in duration, a doctoral program or a selected bachelor's degree, such as Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Children are eligible for a study permit regardless of the program they are enrolled in. A spouse can apply for a visitor visa if the program is ineligible for an open work permit. Loko40: |

Go in person to the embassy... not VFS. Explain your situation to the security team: when you submitted, the actions you have taken, and your program start date. Hopefully, they will let you speak to someone. I don’t know if they are still at 4 Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria Hazereal: |

Your spouse can travel with you on an open work visa if you are going for a master’s program of at least 16 months in duration. The funds depend on the tuition fee, the program duration, the number of dependents, and the sponsor. MilliFX: |

Hello everyone. I'm looking to apply for either an MSc Or a 2 year Pgd. I have a Bsc In Plant Biology & Biotechnology finished in 2016. A Higher diploma in Public Health (Epidemiology and Reproductive health) 2024 frok The University of Ibadan Consultancy service Unit - I don't know if this counts, as there are claims that it is not an official degree A Pgd in Business Administration, finished in 2024. For work experience, I've worked and at present in the banking sector since 2018. I'm looking to applying for a course somewhat health related and in high demand. I am looking to prioritise courses with affordable tuition. Many of the schools I've come across seem to charge on a per credit basis and somewhat high. I will be glad to receive suggestions as to great courses with prospects to Post graduate work permit and jobs after studies. Thank you CC: ATTAHDYE bullstriker amnotapervert |

Hello Sir Canada places a lot of emphasis on consistency, since you said you have been a banker since 2018, my advice is that you pursue a program in Management or Finance. Health will not cut it at the Visa stage (you could get an admission for a health care program, and get bounced at the visa stage for inconsistencies in career path) because you have no working experience in that sector. All the best EmmanuelCena: |

You can check your offer letter to see if there is an applicable scholarship that you have qualify for and have been awarded. You can also search for scholarship opportunities that you qualify for and apply. All the best Maxman0075: |

Reach out to your school to defer your resumption date. Once it is done they will issue you a new LOA. Send the LOA by webform to notify IRCC. You don't need to withdraw or reapply for anything on IRCC. All the best. BrainArch: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 4:09pm On Dec 24, 2025 |
ATTAHDYE:EmmanuelCena I agree with this statement Canada places a lot of emphasis on consistency you can get an admission because schools just want international student money but the visa process will be very difficult as you are currently not doing anything in healthcare.. It does not add up and IRCC will look at your application that way.. |
