Your celebration of Christmas should make you do things that would draw you closer to God and not further away from Him, if indeed it's the celebration of Christ birth, because that's the purpose Christ was born and sent by God to the world.

To be the way that would reconnect man to God.

Many people organise parties, get drunk, have sex, etc. in the name of celebrating the birthday of Christ which they call Christmas, however unknown to them they're actually contradicting themselves by their actions which perverts and are counterproduct to the purpose of His birth.

I used to be one of such, looking forward every year to the Christmas season, because of such parties and even teaming up with friends to organise some of them, but thank God I am now saved and no longer doing such sinful things that glorify the devil in the name of celebrating Christmas.

Instead I now celebrate the birth of Jesus everyday doing things that glorify God and align with the purpose of His birth.

When you try to base your way to the father on your not parting, alcohol and so-called sexual sin, are you not creating a way other than Jesus that way?

Trust in the works of Jesus on your behalf and not on your ability to avoid "sin" which a true believer in Jesus shouldn't even have in their vocabulary after accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Christian is the person God now asks just as He asked Adam; "who told you that your are naked?" because "sin" has been abolished you can now enter into the rest that God has prepared for us who believe.

Rest from your work for righteousness before God and accept the righteousness that God bequeath to you. If you still feel naked then just keep thanking and praising God for what He had done for you through Christ Jesus.

Christmas os not necessarily a Christian celebration. As christians, we are not commanded to celebrate any day so i wouldn't hold it against anyone who may not celebrate like I would

Christmas celebrations preceded Christmas. Saturnalia in Roman or Yule in Nordic tradition celebrated the shortest day of the year, the rebirth of the sun. It was a day filled with larties, alcohol, and sexual sins. Christianity only continued with that tradition.
