CrystalTiger:For 30 million? He is 21 and an English international and even if he didn't workout here we would have easily recouped whatever we bought him for. We bought Dan James for 15 and sold him for 25m. The Sesko we bought instead for 70 million will be harder to recoup anything on if he flops and he's currently heading that way. 6 Likes |

eph12:The kid is just silly. It was a bad move for him, cos he'd be playing and developing better in another league. It was a bad move for Chelsea, cos they're not getting the best from him. Lana1:He is the best academy talent we have produced in the time i have been watching the academy closely. In the premier league era, only Ravel Morrison and Giggs were at that level but i didn't get to see those ones in detail. I am not sure how much the club could have done after the fact. Their job (and that of his parents) was to instil the right values in him and prevent him turning out the way he did. After the incident, their hands were tied. If you doubt it, try go to RedCafe (largest Man Utd fan forum with a lot of influential UK members) and post comments supporting Greenwood and see how long it takes before they block your account. The civil war would have wrecked the club. Many of the vocal and influential UK-based members do not see the case the way many international fans see it. |

afrodoc2:Greenwood is definitely the best academy player we have produced in 20 years. He's parents definitely didn't do enough to raise and counsel him the right way. This is why the club should have stepped in and given him close marking to protect him and ensure he didn't lose his way. There were quite questionable videos of him surfacing on the internet those first two years of his promotion ti the first team. That and the incident where he got in trouble with Foden for breaking Covid protocols should have raised alarms within the club. His waywardness wouldn't have been allowed to fester if the likes of SAF, LVG, and Mourinho were manager. 2 Likes |
