The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria Peoples Party has dissolved its Kano State Executive, as well as all local government and ward leaders, ahead of the defection of the state governor, Abba Yusuf’s defection to the All Progressives Congress.

NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Oladipo Johnson, stated in a Friday statement that the NWC plans to establish a caretaker committee soon.

Recall that the NNPP National Leader and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Yusuf have been embroiled in a political crisis.

The governor is reportedly on the verge of joining the APC, a move strongly opposed by Kwankwaso.

The Kano state chapter of the APC has confirmed that Yusuf is expected to join the party in a few days.

Johnson, however, emphasised that the dissolution was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution.

He stated, “The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, after an emergency meeting, has, in accordance with the constitution of the party, announced the dissolution of its Executive Committees at the State, Local Government, and Ward levels in Kano State.

“In line with the provisions of the party’s constitution, the NWC resolved to appoint Caretaker Committees to act in the interim. Further instructions will be announced in due course.

“The NWC accordingly thanked all those who held positions at the State, Local Government, and Ward structures of the party in Kano State and assured them of the party’s appreciation for their invaluable contributions.”

Unless rigging is involved, you must be dreaming by posting those figures. Unless Abba decamps with the tacit support of his godfather, of not Tinubu can never win Kano. Don't confuse Abba winning his reelection to Tinubu winning Kano.

Not that they see anything good. It's the inducement by Tinubu that's attracting them. They are given 10 Billion each, for state governor to pocket privately to defect.

Secondly, Tinubu have also used money to induce crises in almost all the notable opposition parties. He manufacture these problems using factions, and where there is none, he'll crate one. They go as far as recalling past party office holders whose tenure have elapsed to come back and lay claims to the position, thereby creating internal crises.

Nigeria is on a very dangerous path to political crises caused by the greed of one man who’ll rather watch the country burn down than lose election.

What we don't want is unbridled greed and the inordinate quest for power. You keep sharing billions to governors and co, but you want Nigerians to pay it back through our noses in the form of tax?

Rigging 2027 election may throw the country into crises. As the year passes the citizens become more aware of their immediate environment. 2027 is surely not going to be like 2023. The people are wiser and more informed now than before
