DrMB:Clear evidence that the men involved are not as smart as their bank accounts seems to show. A man who cannot keep a marriage going for reasons including adultery and inability to control his emotions is not a smart man but a fool of gargantuan proportion. See MKO Abiola's outcome and the disarray his family has since exemplified. |

May your name never be on this list. Someone calling it blessing, so.e will call it a curse. I feel it's a curse. God hates divorce, so it's not a blessing |

DrMB:The money Tiger Woods paid to Elin Nordegren after their divorce in 2010 worth $710 million was huge and I though at that time that the settlement was too much Just when I thought I had seen it all, Jeff Bezos too got divorced from his former wife in 2019 and then the big whale of them all, Bill Gates paid to his ex at higher amount worth billions of USD |

Donvictor2015:Ever read or heard the story of a woman once married to an extremely wealthy man who had no time for her. One day the man suggested a holiday in Dubai and flew over in his private jet only to abandon the wife in Dubai when he quickly thought to dash to China for a quick business meeting. Once done with his meeting in China he just flew back to Nigeria and continued with his life! It was a call from his wife still waiting for him in Dubai that reminded him he was supposed to be on a romantic vacation with his wife in Dubai!! He Had forgotten her in Dubai!!!. Needless to say, the woman filed for divorce and left. No woman except the Prostitute will be contented with being used as an item to decorate the home! |

Pathetically, no woman on that list that paid her husband after divorce. They're all women who took from men using marriage as the trap. Gender equality and Feminism are the two most disgusting and driest jokes of the century. |

You will hardly find a woman filing for divorce against a broke man or against a man they're doing better than. But when the man is wealthy, they want half of his wealth. |

YoungLionken:Most times, especially for those wealthy men, it's not about beauty. It's about who they foolishly think can understand them and can reason on the same frequency (knowing that they hardly have sense) and some of them hardly get someone who really loves them when they're already stupendously wealthy. At that point, they're not seeing the red flags, it just appears they're loved only for them to play the joker when they feel the time is right. Fear who no fear women! |

Donvictor2015:Take away sharing of marital properties & spousal support from marital laws. You will see that the rate & choice for divorce will reduce from women. They see a loophole created to their advantage, they gladly take advantage of it. It will limit their entitlement mentality. |
| Re: Top 25 Most Expensive Divorce Settlements In History by Emanodimo(m): 2:15pm On Jan 02 |
OvertheTop:Unfortunately, those men don't see it coming. The same way, they seek men in power, lobby around them with hope to pass a *Reserved seat for women* in National Assembly. The question herein, those countries with Female president in Latin America, Tanzania, Liberia was it reserved for them? Political power isn't to be handled over for emotional reasons. That idea of reserved seat for women is gender bias, against democratic principle and belief. If the NA choose to fall for it, then let them reserved seat for men, women and politicians as the last gender. |

tiswell:Rare maybe... however as a woman takes time out of her career to have children and raise them, women will naturally have less earning potential in their lifetime. I lost 2 years of earning with my first child. 6 months with my second child, because then I earned more money than my husband and needed to go back to work sooner. IMO divorce settlement should be a clear 50/50 split of assets, like my own divorce, no matter who earns more or contributed more financially during the marriage. During marriage there should never be 'his and her' money and assets. It should be 'our' money and assets. Shared equally. Divorce should not change that and assets should also be shared equally. This is also rare. |
| Re: Top 25 Most Expensive Divorce Settlements In History by tiswell(m): 6:58am On Jan 03 |
BlueEyedBabe:Most times the man already had money and assets before getting married. Do you now suggest they share his assets because a divorce happened in marriage? In most cases, ladies usually come to the marriage with little or no assets, and eventually seek 50-50 share of the assets they weren't part of,in case of divorce. I support 50-50 share of the assets acquired during their time(s) together, and not the other way round. |

tiswell:And again, I originally asked you... "And when it is the woman who brings wealth to the marriage? Should she also keep all and give nothing if a divorce regrettably occurs?" In Nigeria, the woman may often come to the marriage with little or nothing, but in my country that is not the case. I am bringing millions to my impending marriage to a Nigerian man. Should I share everything 50/50 with my future husband if we later divorced, even if he is not wealthy when we marry? In my opinion, from the day we marry what we both have is Ours. Not mine. Not his. And if we go our seperate ways after some years, what is Ours, should be split 50/50, regardless of what we each had when we married. |
