Wike- I’ll Select Candidate Who’ll Protect My Interests, Not Betray Me. by SlavaUkraini(op): 4:36pm On Jan 05
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has indicated that he has parted ways politically with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Wike said he would personally support a candidate he can trust to succeed Fubara, stressing that he would not repeat what he described as the mistakes of the 2023 election.

The former Rivers State governor made the remarks while addressing his supporters over the weekend in Ahoada Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, previous agreements reached with the governor were allegedly violated, making further political cooperation impossible.

“We will not make the mistake we made in 2023,” Wike said, adding that no individual would dictate political decisions to him in Rivers State.

He also dismissed claims that recent political slogans and rallies would automatically secure an electoral ticket for any aspirant.

DAILY POST recalls that Governor Fubara recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Wike, however, clarified that his open support for President Bola Tinubu does not translate into automatic backing for Fubara’s re-election bid.

He reiterated his support for Tinubu, saying the president deserved a second term, citing what he described as Tinubu’s goodwill towards Rivers State, including his appointment as FCT minister.

Despite this, Wike maintained that political decisions in Rivers State would be guided strictly by trust and interests.

“So, if you like, shout on your mandate 50 times a day. It will not give you an automatic ticket. If you like, bring everybody, shout on your mandate that is not an automatic ticket.

"Politics is about interest,” he said, adding that he would support a candidate he can rely on and “sleep with his eyes closed.”

So it is no longer an election by the people, it is selection like you and Tinubu in 2023.

When Prof Odinkalu said Tinubu and his minions depend only on INEC and Judiciary to win elections and not the peoples' votes. Gbadorian APC charlatans started convulsing..

What other proof do you need..

Just like Husseine Obama was involved in 2015 elections that brought anti-christian APC and Buhari to power, Trump must be involved in the 2027 elections..

Shout Sovereignty from now till tommorow. It won't change anything..

Tinubu can't stop wike, because wike is a loose cannon. Wike knows many dirty secrets of tinubu.

So long as tinubu wanted to win 2027 election by all means wike is and remains unstoppable.

Nobody who understands politics will be surprised by this. If you don't want a godfather, don't accept his help. Treachery is bad. Fubara is an ingrate.

The best 'gift' Rivers people can gift Wike is to reject anyone Wike nominates as the next Governor of Rivers State cos we can't stand another 'agreement is agreement' argument or SOE again.

Wike should go and rest biko!

Why is he so afraid of his own shadow? Why is he running helter skelter?

What he did to others is actually haunting him and I don't see him coming out of it so soon.
