Benzdey4u:If you've already ruled out applying to a new school, I recommend you contact the college directly to confirm two things. First, ask if this particular 8-month AIGS program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Second, ask if the college offers a closely related one-year program that is also PGWP-eligible. If both exist, completing them consecutively could allow you to combine their lengths and qualify for three-year PGWP. It will only cost you a study permit extension. Wishing you good luck with your decision. |

Please, is there anyone who applied for a Canada study visa for the January intake from the UK and has received a response? I applied in October, and aside from my biometric update, there has been no progress. My January resumption date has already passed, and the webform enquiry I sent was only responded to with “your application is in process.” Is anyone else experiencing a similar delay, and what steps are you taking next? |

Option 1. You can apply as a family if the finances are available, and also you will need to show strong home ties. Option 2. You can apply alone and use your family as a home tie. Just put in a good application Your hubby's medical will not delay the process. Medical reports are sent within days to IRCC for review. Yoyoky: |

Greetings House, Regarding Proof of fund, can bank draft serve as POF? My in-law in Canada said he will open bank draft in my name. I will use it as POF when applying for student visa. Can someone here explain to me how bank draft works? Nb: I have already secured Admission At Fanshawe College, program start date is September 2026. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Profgordons(m): 2:29pm On Jan 08 |
Chigbo55:Bank draft would work if you are already incanada. I have seen it work before also from Nigeria but that was years ago when things were not as tough as they have become. Bank Draft is an instrument just like money. If he pays your fees, that is a stronger support now compared to a bank draft. |

Chigbo55:Who actually comes up with all these ideas about bank drafts, GIC, etc.? It’s better to focus on how much your school has asked you to pay as the initial deposit (usually about 15% of the first-year tuition, and it’s refundable if the visa is refused). Once that payment is made, you can show the remaining tuition balance along with your living expenses in your or sponsor bank account. You can also take some time to read up on what a bank draft really is. If you have someone in Canada, that person can act as your sponsor and make a bank draft to pay the initial deposit to the school. The payment receipt after paying to the school can then be used for visa purposes. Other than that, there may not be much need to focus on bank drafts. but why is the person making paying visa bank draft when they can use their banking app because all you need is the receipt that the 15% initial deposit is in your student account |

You just have to wait for a decision; consider deferring your admission to the next term. BrainArch: |
