Ivory Coast all the way with an Amad Diallo goal most likely.
I predicted 4 nations to go all the way into the semi-finals

Senegal
Morocco
Nigeria
Ivory Coast

The super eagles have now become a team that many Nigerians are proud to watch....

Big kudos to Chelle ...

On Wednesday, it's us vs Morocco, the referee and their fans, but I trust the boys...

I think it’s finidi, Kanu and Jay Jay did this celebration that year
I think it is the Finidi George, Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo celebration against Tunisia (our 4:2 win) in GHANA/NIGERIA 2000 AFCON. I stand to be corrected.

Solid first half. Only thing missing is the go ahead goal.

Akor's 1v1 miss and Bassey's effort cleared off the line were the closest we came to a goal. We will get it eventually.

On Osimhen, it is not his fault that he has struggled to get some shots off today. Most times when the ball comes, he is under immense pressure and close markings but there 2 particular occasions where I feel he might have done better. But note... he has been policed and even though he has tried escaping the Algerian backline, they stay on him long enough for Zidane to get the ball.

And, Iwobi has not been man marked. Rather the Algerians have sat too deep cutting off the passing lanes Iwobi would frequently exploit. This is why it seems folks may not be seeing Iwobi's magic. He has still pulled off more forward passes than anyone in the first half and it wont stop. Some of those passes led to the couple chances we mustered.

Bright Osayi Samuel. He has been near 100% perfect. Solid in defence as he has not been dribbled at all. He has not been beaten for pace. He has also been dangerous for us getting forward. His ball carries has helped progess our offensive transitions. His duels have been won 4/5 times.
He has also helped in possession recoveries. Brilliant first half.

Nigeria have been dominant. Algeria have not had a sniff of our goal but we have to watch it in the 2nd 45 and try maintain the front foot tempo we executed that first half with. I know the goal will come and Zidane will crack.
@emboldened... At halftime, I said Iwobi will keep doing what he is doing. He will find that gap and he did brilliantly for Nigeria's 2nd goal.

The Algerians were too careful in the 1st half and sometimes lucky when some of Iwobi's final third line breakers didnt punish them.

Iwobi, take your huge flowers for consistently probing and exploiting the gaps in between the Algerian midfield-defensive lines and the half spaces especially on the medial left side. A true Eagle Eye.

And let me add that defensively, Iwobi put in his best defensive shift of the Afcon so far today. Kudos Iwobinho!

We totally suppressed the Algerians and made them look clueless. Very dominant win. If not that we respected them sef it could have been a 3-0 or 4-0 whitewash.

Yea Ndidi is off. There’s no how these things won’t happen that why your squad must have depth we are even lucky it’s not worse than this
Ndidi was booked for time wasting abi? Though he was injured and didn't even return to finish the game, the referee erred on that one I believe.
Meanwhile some Algerian fans dey claim dem bribe referee against them. Was that a handball against Ajayi in the 1st half?

Lookman was sound but I think his deficiency showed more than his good work.

Lookman seems not to fully grasp the role.

On many occasions he tried to do things himself. His offensive play should come after transition, not before. There were times he released the ball late and times to pass he held the ball. Lookman fixes this and the team gets even stronger.

Expect Chelle to iron this with Lookman. Get the ball to the attackers fast and then join them in the attack.
Most of you don't know how to read match. So, you didn't see Algeria man marking him.

He no Sabi role but contributed 7 goals.

What about Osimhen? He should have crossed earlier before driving forward. But he decided to move in before hitting the ball on a player.

You no see that one?

As tensions have been doused with the dominant display and victory where the Super Eagles hunted and feasted on foxes in a cold Desert, I need our opinions on a matter.
If there was a sensor(I presume none in AFCON) linked to a watch on the referee wouldn't that Bassey's first half shot have counted as a goal cos apparently a greater percentage of the ball had crossed the line!
The whole has to cross the line.

Possibly Chuckwueze or Simon should replace Lookman in starting XI since he is the major issue...again Lookman caused us not to whitewash Algeria just like he failed us by not adding more goals against Mozambique.... complain complain...beating Algeria una think say na moi moi...all the players played perfectly well today....Lookman deficiency showed more than his good work?even Chelle will not agree with you so far in this tournament
These are people that claimed Chuks plays better behind Akor and Osimhen but the coach thinks otherwise and we can see with our eyes they were totally wrong.
