Why didn’t City fold their arms after that Rodri injury and expect Pep to use Kovacic and Kalvin Phillips to turn their consecutive losses into wins?

Why did they go all out that January and buy Nico Gonzalez and co?
These are not direct Rodri replacements na.

Is Nico Gonzalez anywhere near Rodri in terms of Talent?

If we were the ones that bought Nico and struggled, people like you would rush here to claim that the action is similar to replacing Pirlo with Olofinjana grin

Abi no be this thread again?

James Trafford. Outstanding young goalie with a bright future. After 2-3 games Pep was not convinced by him and they immediately bought Donnaruma. Combined 60m on GK department. In one TW.
Did Utd not spend 50-60m on a keeper recently? And another 30m on another keeper afterward? Despite not playing consistently in the UCL.

Nico Gonzalez is a midfielder. He was bought to fill Rodri’s shoes. Pep also brought back Gundogan the previous summer.

Last TW he bought 2 attacking midfielders in Tijani and Cherki. Bernardo Silva can be phased out in peace.

How many midfielders are close to Rodri in terms of talent?

They knew they can’t replace Rodri. But with their situation at that time, they knew they had to bring in some reinforcements.

Your squad is thin. Your main players get injured and you are arguing against bringing in reinforcements. Lol.

These guys are not DMs. Only Nico. Pep that has improvised many times because no replacement for Rodri, and you don’t see him and the fans complaining that there is hole in the midfield.

When was the last time United made a mistake in the TW and correct it the next window? Even the Onana that you mentioned served us premium shege for at least 2 years before he was put out of his misery. And he cost us 43m GBP.

City’s midfield was already competent. They had Kovacic, Kalbin Philips, Gundogan and even Bernardo Silva before Rodri got injured. Did that stop him from getting Nico?

For me, I think we need to first decide if we want to sign players to fit into what a coach wants or the designated system the club intends to adopt in the long run. Looking at Cunha and Mbeumo, they do not look like out and out wingers rather inverted forwards, their signings favors the systems Amorim plays but in a 4-3-3, I don't think they'll be that effective (Mbeumo can still do a job though)...
We need to identify good players. That is the first thing. The club has already decided on buying for the club rather buying coach-specific players. I read that this was the reason for the fallout between Wilcox and Amorim this January. It was after Wilcox informed him about this that he had his meltdown.

So that side is sorted. We now need to identify good players.

And most importantly, they have a talented coach that knows how to get the best from non-worldies like Nico, a washed up/injury ravaged Gundogan + Winger cum Midfielder Bernado Silva to get results - an aspect that can never be overemphasised!

If na this place, na so so excuses we go dey hear from peeps like you

We are not competing in Europe. We are currently out of both local cups.

The current squad is good enough to achieve a decent finish in the league, pending the next TW when hopefully, we wouldnt have to rush and overpay for anybody again

Haha, competent indeed! Competent because the manager is finding ways to win games without a proper DM. Old Gundogan and Bernardo, old and injury prone Kovacic. You wont admit that having a better manager is a big deal. Continue!

How much did city spend in summer of last season?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 10:08pm On Jan 11
I hope the people dropping Garnacho stinkers will also drop good updates about him and other players. E.g that of McTom. Wait, I Heard Rashford has won his first trophy at Barca. Nah, he is a passenger in the team.

God airpus!

Did they not sign 4-5 players last summer for Amorim? What about the transfer window before that? Abegi, we can use this squad to get European football. No let Amorim confuse una with the 15th position finish last season.
At what position did Amorim leave the club?

Pep didn’t get it right until they signed new players in January actually. That’s in spite of the boku midfielders he had.

You got your answer. Also, he got us 15th position last season and lots of bad records that can never be erased.

The same person who said united were buying rubbish when we were interested in Semenyo and cherki in the summer is praising city for getting those players. Once United rivals buy a player they instantly become quality because they have actual coaches that can make use of players

Don’t worry. The upcoming manager sef get plenty records to break. Even interim to the interim, he will break something too. 😂

Honestly, everything you say here is still around the fact that we sacked this guy. Reason you keep bringing up these excuses and continue to wish failure on the team. Nawa o.

According to you guys, I don’t know anything. Youre the sage. The one who believe Dalot had a good performance today in spite of this.

Poppycock. My point has always been that we need to fortify our team first before we can hope for success— irrespective of who the manager is.

We don sack managers tire but things keep going from bad to worse. It’s clear that changing managers alone is not the solution.

You are always typing rubbish that contains zero points. When you get called out you will start crying and run to chatgpt. Name two teams In the entire league that has spent more money in buying players over the last 3, 5 and even 10years.
