Nice observations. It's just a little part of the mind control games being played out. They then label it as trend. So those with weaker minds will follow. It goes far beyond that, even down to what people eat and how they live their private lives and relationships with others

Let me drop my last comment because nobody here comes to learn. 30 means you were born in 1995/1996.

There is something called “around my age.” For a specific age, it means three years up and three years down. Anyone who you meet “around your age,” which is 1992 - 1998 for a 1995 born individual, will imbibe almost the same characteristics as you due to proximity in age and shared experiences during childhood.

Gen Z was born in 1997. That makes them one year or two younger than you are right now. When you were in JSS 3, they were in JSS 2 or JSS 1. If you repeated a class, nobody will listen to your pleas that you aren’t one of them. You all share the same experiences based on being around the same age. My guy, all of una dey act the same. You without a doubt have a TikTok account — that is their number one signature.

Please check the age gap of Gen Zs. You are the eldest of Gen Zs. Gen Zs does not mean they don't have older ones. What is it with the age differentiation, whereas you belong to the same class you are lampooning?

During my heydays of using Nairaland and Twitter, many who are now in their forties criticised younger people (those in their thirties). During #ENDSARS, those in their fifties and sixties criticised young people for protesting. So, it is not surprising to see those who were criticised now doing the criticism. However, what is surprising is seeing how they claim not be Gen-Zs even when their age captures the range for Gen-Zs.

This is why I don't take some nomenclature very seriously.

That is not true. Whatever Gen-Zs are doing, their elder counterparts did worse. The Internet just makes theirs very open. Causal sex culture or poor dressing did not start from Gen-Zs.

The Nigerian economy nosedived in 2015, and we just had our highest GDP growth rate ever since (still not 5%). During my heydays on Nairaland, there was at least ONE graduate trainee role being advertised on the front page. After Buhari entered, they disappeared.

Cut Nigeria's Gen-Zs some slack.
