I don’t think Mainoo is ready to win anything. He’s slow and needs serious effort in terms of reading the game and more confidence for forward passes from deep.

Bruno and Sesko are more likely to flourish imo

Bruno is expected. That one will flourish under any system. If the manager likes let him play 2-3-5 Hruno will do his thing.

I think Mainoo will be a winner early on. But if his performances do not improve he will be bounced to the bench. That is why I said early winners, Carrick will give him a chance at the start or soon after starting.

He’s a Carrington boy. Carrick is expected to give him chances. I just don’t know if Mainoo will make the most of that chance.

What will be very worrying is if Kone gets minutes, shows loads of promise, and Carrick, because of his man-know-man tendencies, keeps playing Mainoo even when it’s clear that Kone would perform better for that CM/DM role.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Austrian, 51, will leave as a Palace legend having led the Eagles to their first major trophy when they beat Manchester City to win the FA Cup last season.
