Muhammadu Sanusi II, emir of Kano, has commenced lectures at Northwest University, Kano, as a 200-level law student.

Sanusi joined other students for lectures on Tuesday, dressed in a black flowing apparel and white turban.

He sat quietly at the back of the class on a three-seater, following the session alongside other students.

The emir’s lecture attendance followed a special admission offer granted to him by the university last week.

Northwest University admitted Sanusi into the bachelor of laws (LL.B) programme in Common and Sharia Law.

The institution stated that the admission was in recognition of his extensive experience in governance, economics, and public service.

Established in 2012, Northwest University is one of two universities owned by the Kano state government.

Sanusi, a PhD holder and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has remained a prominent voice in public life.

He is widely known for his expertise in economics and finance, as well as his advocacy for education and social reform.

The rabid islamophobia on Nairaland is getting to breaking points.
There's hardly ANY topic on the front page which doesn't elicit comments showing open hate for Muslims and Islam and quite often, a call for the extermination of Muslims by rabid islamophobes who have found a safe haven on your platform to make comments they can't make on most other public SM platforms.

I don't see why anyone who says "Islam/Muslims must be eradicated/exterminated" should not be permanently banned!

I hope the lecturer will develop some kind of phobia as a prominent philantropist is sitting next to them, the lecturers will have maximum respect for the formal central bank governor and a pH.D holder.

Exactly! Just take a look at all the entourage that followed him to "class", how will these young students not be distracted by all these shenanigans? He should go for distance learning or arrange private lecturing, he can afford it.

It's obvious you don't know what is Islamic banking. If an Islamic bank be established in your city, you would abandon those money deposit banks(FirstBank, Gtbank, etc) Islamic bank don't charge interests. They believe in fairness

Everybody want to acquire knowledge no matter the years.
It is all about fulfilment.
No knowledge is waste.
The good part of it is that nobody will use law to intimidate him.
While some people are thinking that school is scam, some are making use of their life judiciously and some are saying they are too old to go back to school.
