Carrick looks like an incredible organizer. I have not seen any defensive gaps in these 2 games. We appointed a bad manager in Amorim to replace a bad manager in ETH. No formation change could have saved either of them.

We were lucky today sha. If Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus had played Arsenal would have won.

I am certain we would have fared a lot better. We did have the personnel especially in midfield and the wingback positions to play 3-4-3. With 3 men in the midfield, our CBs are not exposed to so much pressure.

You think we would have done better with a change of formation from 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 with a poor manager who has only ever coached 3-4-3 in his life and even the 3-4-3 he can't coach it properly.

He is not a good coach. Even if we had been better after a change as you say it would have been marginal, maybe enough for him to last 2-3 years here that would have been a waste. It is good he stuck to his formation and got kicked out relatively early.

Anyways that is in the past. I really hope Carrick can replicate these performances and results against the small teams. Making the Champions League again might be a transfer game changer for us.

Fletcher changed from 3-4-3 and we still got kicked out of the FA Cup. It is because he is not as good a coach as Carrick. At least not yet.

Until the rules are changed teams should exploit them too. Arsenal does not have an unfair advantage so i don't think teams should be lamenting. Don't get mad, get even.

Credit to Lammens though, made two crucial saves.. Love the way he's always brave during set pieces too..

I was actually expecting Carrick to send our three forwards near the half way line during any Arsenal corners.
I don't know why teams throw their eleven players into the box with Arsenal players. It further congests the box to the disadvantage of the GK and that gives Arsenal full focus to attack the corners and not worry about the other end.
