If Amorim was the coach, United would've most likely lost this game then our brothers in Christ will tell us that the team isn't good enough to beat Wolves

Against Shitty and Assnal our intensity and approach did not drop in the second half, unlike during the tenure of Bald Fraud and Amorim. We played like we really wanted to win the games, this is what good coaching and tactic does to a team. Still early days like many here have opined, but i am loving what i am seeing so far...
Na the headache of bulldozing through danfo buses that these midtable/relegation teams park that's the main koko now. embarassed

If we can do that, then I'll know we're on to something. I'm tired of beating Liverpool, Assnal, city, Chelsea only to lose/draw against west ham, Brentford, Burnley afterwards angry angry

But while people are giving credit to Carrick, I think Steve Holland deserves some flowers. That man's defensive organization skills are highly underrated. shocked shocked shocked

I did some video research and saw he worked with Mourinho, Southgate and even Di Matteo in 2012, responsible for setting up that Chelsea defensive tactics against Barca in that champions league semi final. shocked shocked shocked

Even if the board decides not to stick with Carrick and want to appoint a different in the future, regardless of how the season goes,(knowing how much of a loose cannon INEOS can be undecided), Steve Holland must be retained at all costs!!

You should see what he does to Yoro and heaven outside training sessions and matches grin grin grin

That's aside utilizing the opportunity to rub and tap Mbeumo's bald head at times 😂😂😂

I think you are right about Holland. That is why I mentioned Carrick’s coaching staff in an earlier post.

Holland is said to be a very good defensive organiser who did some good work at Chelsea and with the national team.

Can you link me to your earlier post, let me see if it tallies with what I saw in those videos talked about him? That man is just something else. Imagine if we had him earlier this season. That 2012 champions league Chelsea defensive prowess was something else. I even watched where Holland did a tactics video on how he studied messi before the two legs and set up a way to shut him down. Omo! shocked shocked

Arsenal are away at Elland Road next. It will be a very tough game for them.
True, every game now is a difficult game for all teams. Some are fighting for the title, some for CL, Europa and Conference League, some are fight to escape relegation.
Unless Shitty improve from their current poor form and Assnal of course enter their bottlejob mode...

When will Amorim get his flowers for transforming this team? Or we're just gonna pretend like the man did nothing to this team. What about his acquisitions? At this point it'd be delusion to deny the man's imprints on the team.

Yeah, he played most of the players out of position but the team is in this position now because the man got us there for someone else to build on his legacy.

I hold no brief for the man, but this is Amorim's legacy. Never forget that even as you're overjoyed.
It's always good to beat the two teams we've beaten so far, but just like Carrick is not carried away, nobody should be about this team cos these players are still suspects.

If not for the blunders and the needless draws, we would have been contenders even and that's because of one man. There's also the possibility of the players rebelling against his Iron hand approach, but he formed a team that was frustrating to play against.

DO AWAY WITH SENTIMENTS AND GIVE WHAT BELONGS TO CEASAR TO CEASAR.
This is what i v been saying.Unlike ETH , Amorim left us much better than he met us.Rigidity , inability to play players in their best positions finish him. These players want to win now.We saw how Dorgu was tracking back to help Luke shaw.l think Amorim stern n "over discipline" caged these players. Now they can express themselves.Tbh I don't even recognize Dorgu again
Now the big question- shud Carrick continue if he maintain this tempo ?

Any manager not named Enrique, Flick, Pep should not get more than a 2-year contract, so that in any case where we have to terminate the contract, we don't break the bank to do it. If Carrick does well, let them start him on a one or two-year contract...

Not as explicit as your post but when i mentioned Carrick's coaching crew it was Holland i was talking about.

Carrick with Boro was known for setting up his teams to create chances but they also conceded chances. At least that is what heard. So, this our defensive solidity is probably partly due to Holland.

Different meaning ? I no understand.

No vex baba I was just stressing the need for quality coaching.

I don’t know what the future holds for Carrick but his coaching crew seems to be better than the previous 2 that we had.

Baba no vex. Let’s all celebrate this change in fortunes. We deserve am.

I can't say for sure whether the new signings were all his preferred choices, as I don't think he knew much about Mbeumo and Cunha. Sesko was not his choice; he preferred Gyokeres. I think Dorgu was his signing, and that's about it... Where I'll give him credit is that he tried to restore discipline to the team and didn't hesitate to rein in the egos of players who thought they were bigger than the team.

He assembled a good team, but he didn't know how best to utilise their strengths, so I am not sure that his team was frustrating to play against, as you opined.
We had a good gameplan for the most part especially against strong teams but the lapses watered down everything yunno. And it's no coincidence that the players suddenly decided to sit up after Ratcliffe threw his weight behind him and said he'd be getting 3 years. The players rebelled at some point but he's left them with his imprint. Simple

Continue? Honestly, I don't trust these players. We saw all these with Ole and RVN. The first 20 minutes of the game flashed our memory back to those boring and pointless gameplay where Rashford or Martial would eventually save the day and we chant Ole at the wheels, knowing there are obvious cracks in the team. The dreadful gameplay of not being able to string passes successively couldn't hide itself and that speaks volume.

Overall, Carrick deserves a chance should they sort the midfield and get rid of the likes of accidental Dalot.

If we continue with these crop of guys, all I can say is Omo

yours is an unpopular opinion
and i don't miss amorim -- i don't think for a second he'd have beat man c and ars b2b

but...
we had three shots on target yesterday and scored all three
against city we should have scored 7 but we only put 2 on the scoreboard

if we had better conversion and a deeper bench from the start of the season
we'll be title contenders because the rest of the league has been inconsistent

nonetheless, it is fair to admit that carrick's setup is better for this crop of players
and amorim's game management was atrocious

hopefully we'll keep creating a dozen chances per game because we consistently need a sh*tload to outscore the opposition

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by BenNash: 3:18pm On Jan 26
Amorim was such a terrible manager but I'll admit, the interplay between our players, the calmness in possession, the good short passes, all these we learn under Amorim.

Which leads to lots of confusion for me. Will a a long duration of training sessions under Carrick drill out these attributes from the team?

The team looks like it's built to throw long passes and counter attack teams, but we actually are playing good with really nice short passes. Looking almost like a possession based team transitioning into an attacking one. Can this continue long term?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by BenNash: 3:22pm On Jan 26
For the first time at United, it was under Amorim I saw our players turning opposition players into cones, with short passes. There were things he was getting right. His personality just meant he was never going to be the right fit.

I'm really hoping Carrick recognizes the good things drilled into this team and build up on that, instead off brining in new useless tactics long term.

I don't want Enrique jare, i don't think he has the United DNA tactic in him. Flick, Nagelsmann fit the profile....

I had to watch ten of Boro's matches when he was their coach then, one of them including the carabao cup exit against Chelsea in the second leg and I can confirm this is true. 👍

Middleborough was a very attacking team and his tactics relied on one ultra attacking full back to support an inside forward with the opposite full back staying compact to form a back three or inverting to help the lone DM while the other one in the pivot pushes forward(He used this pattern with united against city last week; Dalot bombed forward with shaw staying back and supporting casemiro and also inverting when attacking, allowing Mainoo to push forward)

That second leg in Stamford Bridge was very entertaining and I was surprised to see Boro go toe to toe with Chelsea. The only thing that made the difference was Chelsea finishing their chances, compared to Boro's atrocious finishing undecided(Not surprising, considering Chuba Akpom's absence)

It didn't help that Boro later sold most of his important players after that painful premier league promotion exit (again, due to terrible finishing undecided ) and further weakened the team the next season. huh

What remains is to see how he uses Holland's assistance to neutralize underdogs that try to counter attack after parking trucks and private jets in front of their posts undecided
