The point is that these women want a resting shoulder but they don't want to be resting shoulders for others.

That's why they are saying there are no dependable people for them.
Gidah:
She has said it well, everybody needs a resting shoulder and a good listener when you need to speak your mind out . Thats where a spouse comes in

Women will only end up destroying themselves, while trying to measure up with men. Eg, since many of them have started working, facing reality, you hear them saying "omo, what a man can do, he should continue doing it o, a woman can't do better" Many of them are forcefully competing with men just to drive home equality, only to get tired midway..

Many of them brag about being independent but yet, get sponsored by (phoolish) men; house rent, jobs, finance, etc. Women can never be truly independent or equal, but if they kept on this mentality, we would only take a step back and leave them to their wish..

Just last night, I told a female neighbor that men and women can never share equal rights and that, maybe abroad yes, but here, women can never beat men to the game. That, she should thank her stars that we still have many phoolish men bankrolling them, not as if they (women) love men that much but only there with a fake respect just for what they can gain (many women don't love men but just hanging on for their own advantage). I use talk wen she start take tire her, only she use pain vex comot...
Imagine this, I was toeing same direction you mentioned here to undergraduate students within age range of 18 - 20 some weeks ago. I was shocked with their responses. Meaning; many of them have been influenced with the feminism idea mentality.

When i got tired trying to proof my point from cultural, religion and realistic angle, I just left them to their fate. cool

Experience will bend some of their decisions later in life.

You have comprehension issue.

What is Independent?

So dependent/Independent only refers to finance?
And you only read about finance in my comments?

This years of trolling, is it a curse on you? Your blocking just expired now and you can't even breathe for a day

Women are one of the most funniest creation of God, they are can lie without thinking or looking back, my mother once told me, I'm your mother never trust a woman that will be the beginning of your Downfall because when they let you down you will regret it forever.

Independence doesn’t mean isolation. You can be financially stable and still want emotional support, partnership, and reliability. Humans are wired for connection

Because married, single, divorced or widowed women cannot be independent?
What is the definition of independence in her opinion?

Then why focus on 'women' alone?

In other words, there is nothing like an 'independent man' either - Even "BABA OKOYA". cheesy
You're already having seizures for this and coming at men.

Do you hear men chant such spurious adulation?

Women can only be independent of men. Men are naturally meant to prowl this world independently, making life easier for you. Women, being serpentine in nature will always be laddened with an inferiority complex hence wanting men's place. See you for instance, already triggered by the statement because you're constantly at competition with men. Knowing the obvious biological differences between both genders you still ignorantly compare yourself neck-on-neck with men.

Rest!

I haven't heard any man refer to himself as "independent man"

It is women who coined that term for themselves

Im married and i can tell you this, we have our own differences but if she doesnt has a shoulder i feel i can rest on i wont wife her . The shoulder can be anything as far as it brings peace of mind and growth im good. Choose wisely if your partner no dey for you, no partner the person then

because a woman is independent means she shouldn't have sex? Are independent men not having sex?

A woman is only independent at her level. Once she gets to a level and standard above what she is accustomed to, she becomes dependent. Those ladies living in posh mansions and driving exotic cars who service politicians will claim to be independent to their peers.

Even in the west, experience are bending their women too, forget what you read here

That's one of the reasons they are easily preyed on by young men in Africa through the internet

Anything that makes you feel superior about yourself and the rest of gender, you’re free to believe and even propagate but Life is deeper than your boyish wisdom

Perhaps one day, you might get tired of playing with little girls/pseudo hoes and discover a hidden world where only valuable men and women are allowed to connect

Till then keep sitting on the ground in dust with nothing in your head and you wonder why you only attract leeches

Just speak about yourself and stop generalizing

Being independent don't mean you can't be in relationships, marriage or fall in love, being independent mean you are not a liability to anyone
This man here. Give him a round of applause

Too many assumptions from your reply, just like me assuming that you got a butter face, even when I don't know what you look like..

Joking apart, you seem pained💔. Take heart shorty, the truth hurts wink...

No, that's not what she is saying.
She is saying that those ladies that always claimed to be independent are only doing so because they cannot find a reliable man to love them and provide for them.
That if they do have, all the noise about being an independent woman wouldn't be heard
In other words,no woman is independent by choice. If there is a man in their life now, you see them changing mouth and denouncing the so called independent status.
Given the choice for any young rich lady to choose between being in marital relationship with a man and being independent because she has money, she will choose being with a man.
Therefore, there is no TRUE independent woman, according to her.
All nah gra gra.
Re: There’s No Such Thing As An ‘Independent Woman’ — Mary Njoku Sparks Debate by Pacesetter123(m): 8:49pm On Jan 30
The lady is damn right!
All those ladies claiming independence are dieing slowly within themselves in their closets.Even with their enough money at hand.
But outside, they will be making mouth that they are ok with their independence status.
One lady,a very well-to-do one for that matter once confessed to me that she is not happy with herself.
I asked her why.She said as the years go by,she is becoming more and more lonely than before. She said she always feel that there should be a man she should be talking to whenever she is at home and be under his warm embrace.
That before then, when she was much younger, she didn't feel like that. That she was doing her business having enough money as she is still having now but that she didn't feel there was any need for a man in her life that time.
But now, that she is getting tired of holding to that ideology of independency of a woman.
That if she sees any reliable gentleman, she will gladly accept him but that she is not finding any yet right now.
So,this actress making this statement now really knows what she is talking about. And the women, even the aclaimed independent ones know that she is saying nothing but the truth, but they wouldn't accept it openly.
