Good evening everyone, please I would appreciate some guidance on this matter. My niece, who is 27 years old, previously had a visa application refused about seven months ago. She reapplied two weeks ago, but unfortunately, her application was refused again. In the recent application, the bank statement submitted showed an opening balance of ₦1,138,480 and a closing balance of ₦8.3 million. However, the Entry Clearance Officer stated in the refusal letter that the closing balance was ₦1,138,480, which appears to be incorrect. I would be grateful for advice on the best way to address this issue. Thank you.

lawrins8:Good evening everyone. Please I need more help about this proposed application. She also have an uncle that has a valid UK visit visa of two years. That her uncle has a company account worth 20m and personal account worth 40m. He has company tax clearance certificates. Can the uncle also sponsor her trip though they bear different surname. Thank you. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 5:50pm On Jan 27 |
lawrins8:No. Honestly there is no need to go and get another refusal and make your UK journey harder. Abort. You are not currently qualified for a UK visa . Uncle sponsoring visa for what reasons? If she can not sponsor her holiday then there is no point having the holiday in the first place. |

Hello house! I need advice on this. My pregnant wife went for her TB test at St Nicholas few days ago and the outcome revealed suggestive TB. So she was asked to go for further test (Spectrum lab). So my question here is: is it advisable/doable that we try the x-ray test out at another UKVI approved centre? If she do and it come out negative and she is given certificate, do you think there will be any issue/complications with the UK visa. I mean to ask, is the initial record from St Nicholas already on UKVI system and could this cause any complications? Thank all as I anticipate your response. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Oggg: 2:08pm On Jan 28*. Modified: 3:25pm On Jan 28 |
liberallatty:Go to another UKVI approved centre. You are the one to submit your TB result. No problem from UKVI end. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by lawrins8: 3:39pm On Jan 28 |
MsAnonymous:Yes she is staying with me. The £850 is for the flight only. |

Trendie247:Hello Trendie, congratulations on your visa. I sponsored a friend of mine to come into the UK for her osce as well, she told me that there was no vignette on her passport. Did you receive the visa on your passport, if no, have you gotten an evisa yet? |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 10:59am On Jan 30 |
lawrins8:In 2026, a lot has changed. UKVI is tougher now because of the political climate and citizens complaining about illegal immigrants and people overstaying their visas. It is no longer business as usual that’s why more refusals. Go ahead if this person has no previous UK refusals. If they do, then note that another refusal is loading. As an adult desiring to visit the UK, there must be a genuine need or intention for the trip, ties to your home country and proof of stable economic circumstances. If there are already refusals in this individual’s immigration history from the UK then abort as there is no genuine or urgent need for them to visit a friend in the Uk and for the friend to sponsor part of their stay for a whole 2 weeks duration. If also same person has no other travel history- again abort. Visit another country. Immigration not smiling at all. Anything could go wrong and they would no longer have the friend to sponsor and then fall back on the taxpayers money seeking public funds. It is more difficult to prove if there is already a bad UK immigration history with refusals. This is my last opinion on this issue. |

giselle237:Thank you for your response. She has a stable job earning a little above 700k monthly and she lives in her own house with a three year old daughter. She hasn't applied to the UK before. She genuinely want to visit me and go back because we've not seen since she lost her husband. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 2:29pm On Jan 30 |
lawrins8:1. Provide proof of relationship/friendship - calls, chats, emails, pictures, logs, money transfers etc 2. Proof child is hers- birth certificate, pictures from pregnancy, hospital cards, hospital letters etc 3. Your payslips and bank statements as you say you would be responsible for the rest of the trip expenses and a letter explaining why you are handling this. 4. Cover letter of applicant must explain reason for the trip- it’s not enough to say she wants to see you. Look for a genuine reason for example someone whose spouse is dead can be seeking a short and brief change of environment to destress etc Letter must explain what and who will care for the young child, why the young child is not travelling, proof of the available care for the child while mother is away etc And every other document mentioned on this thread for visitor visa application |

Good day bosses. I got this refusal mail for my wife, I admit my error on the part of business which I've learnt I shouldn't have included at all. Considering the fact that the event(my graduation) is Feb 24 and I got this refusal today, what do you advise? NB: I've not run the account at all, I provided, I've provided all other evidences, my payslip, tenancy letter, statement of my account, marriage cert, WhatsApp chat and calls etc.

Allschoolsinfo:Today is 30th. If you reapply today or tomorrow and biometrics is done next week. I doubt she will meet up for the 24th considering that it takes 21-22 days to get a positive decision. If the biometrics is done on Monday 2nd February, a positive decision would come out by 23rd ord 24th feb. Second option is to pay for faster decision which should cost extra 1,000 pounds. |

So many refusal letters.. abeg just checking if the recent guys that sought reconsideration have any outcome to share with the house? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Dradephoenix(m): 1:51pm On Jan 31 |
Oggg:I received a generic response advising that the points raised in my complaint should be evidenced in any future application. However, all of those points were already fully evidenced in the refused application. The refusal appears to have been based on subjective judgment rather than on missing evidence. As a result, I chose not to reapply for my mum, as submitting similar evidence would likely lead to another refusal. She is doing well in Nigeria, and not visiting the UK is not the end of the world. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:55pm On Jan 31 |
Dradephoenix:Hello. If I may butt in, do not accept it. I beg to differ. Her refusal was flawed. You are in the UK and you know generic response is not targeted at you specifically. Respond or re-complain. |
