I moved into mine by 47 years of age. That was 3 years ago and still living in it. May God remember us for greater blessings.

Can you imagine my late father built his first and only house at 29 years of age, several decades ago? Even did house warming with a brand new Peugeot 505?

While me at almost 50 still living in rented apartment.

What an irony of life!

Chisos!! God help us, this country slows down so many people. For the majority you become an old man to start life.
I was speaking with a relative the other day, he informed he his 19 year old had started work, that he joined the police and that he was on paid training. Say very soon the boy go leave house. In that setting at 20/21y already an officer probably buying his first apartment on mortgage, by 24 him don marry with him first child, trade in the first apartment for a bigger one, na so life don start. Meanwhile here in naija, at 24y people just de finish uni or start nysc, before them balance small 30years don nack.
Go and check, the average age most university educated men are marrying these days is well above 30, more like over 35-40 sef.. It is all those handwork people you see getting married earlier, the valcanizers, plumbers, mechanics etc.
God go help us.
Congratulations OP. It's not how fast it is how well.

Depends on the type of job he was doing and whether he took a mortgage loan

I know people who would be older than your dad who didn't move into their own house till they were in their seventies. My own father started work on his house ( now complete) in his fifties when he had accumulated enough to start something.

Also depends on type of house. Bungalow is not equal to five bedroom storey building for example

And please make sure you steer clear from anything that will have to do with Nigerian bannies angry Cuz drawing close to those entities at this point of your life may likely annoy God angry

I'm speaking from experience tho angry.
Don't forget he's 46, this your advice doesn't make sense at all. Not all women are leeches.

If he's someone interested in starting up a family he needs a woman in his life, not just any woman but a woman that's ready to key into his vision.

This his current condition would even make it easier for him to get that woman because most women nowadays want already made men.

He can still meet someone. At 46 he can't be waiting for money before finding a partner. Not everybody is destined to be financially buoyant before marrying. Some men will be helped by their wives. Don't base everything on money

A lot of people are overlooking how Nigeria’s new tax rules affect everyday investments. Residential leasing is quietly becoming one of the most tax-efficient ways to earn stable income in 2026. This breakdown explains why it’s working when other options are struggling.
