@ topic. No doubt ...some Nigerians are self deporting ... but I'm almost sure that will b a very small percentage. I believe it's the smart thing to do for those who came to hustle ...do not have a steady income flow or are jobless for a while. Even if one has a job ...there is the fear of an ICE raid...and if you're on the street looking for a job... there's also the fear of ICE making you the target of a random stop. What's the chances?..not likely ...but possible. But what if they do? This is the biggest fear ... you're pretty much kidnapped because they take you to a detention center...you don't have the right to make a phonecall to tell your people you're picked up ... and the location of your detention center. Then if they decide to deport you ...it is not necessary to your home country...it can be Sudan ..El Salvador or any of the countries that have made an agreement with the US . This is the fear people live with...why they even quit their jobs ...and why some return home. I don't blame them.
Blacks/Africans are not targeted nowhere as much as Hispanics ...non Black Hispanics. If you're Black ..then they assume you're Black American unless the way you dress or certain activities or accent make you stand out...then according to court ruling they have the right discriminate and see you as a target....no longer a target as illegal immigrant ...but immigrant period .
