How Church Almost Turned Me Into A Runs Girl

It's alarming how many modern day churches are pushing their members into illicit and criminal activities through their ungodly and antichrist teachings, policies and excessive demands, thereby turning the church into a den of thieves and criminals.

I won't be surprised if the church whose choir she joined is led by a prosperity preacher, because such are the fruits of that antichrist gospel, which has turned many souls, into thieves, ritualists, prostitutes, babalawos, fraudsters, and so on, as a result of the pressure it puts on members, and even leaders, to get rich at all cost by its demonising and segregation of the poor and their poverty.

Instead of helping and giving to the poor as Jesus and His apostle preached and practiced, they would be oppressing, shaming, mocking them, and casting them aside just because of their poverty, thereby pressuring them to get rich at all cost even if it means doing something evil and sinful.

Thank God in her case she didn't allow the pressure from the church to get to her and make her go astray as it did others.

I appreciate her for sharing her story so it could inspire others who find themselves in similar position and being put under such pressure by their church, that It's possible not to bow to such pressure, and it's better to leave such a church before they did such damage to one's soul and spiritual life.

Some churches are society meetings and bizness centres or even worse. "Some" not All.

If to be in a church choir u Must spend large amounts of money to maintain the standards with no help or support from the church then it is not worth it.

I don't care if they are students or workers. if u set high standards which is good the burden must not be on helpless members.

Must she be in the choir? She should tell us the truth. Before I got married 10 years ago, I was making a minimum of 1m per month ( all profit ). I had just 3 shirts, 2 trousers, one shoe and 2 palm slippers. Before anyone says I am just being stingy, back then I pay school fees of children of people who appear "very rich". My lifestyle my choice.

I had money to buy if I wanted but you can take a boy from the village, you can't take the boy away from the village. I was in the choir at a stage, if I don't have the shirt I no dey minister. No one can shame me. My life I chose by myself and anyone who doesn't like it can go and boil beans.

The lady is under pressure that she herself puts on herself.

My younger brother who I am 15 years older uses a car that is *3 times more expensive than my own car, that won't put me under any pressure because helping people is what gives me joy not acquiring mundane things. Only thing is, my children and my wife will be 100% okay before anyone else - that's my first ministry.

It's not by force remain in any church or unit that strain you in anyway.
That's how I left a particular church because of too much contributions beyond my means.

Nigerian pastors have yet to tell us how they give God the money we pay as tithe and offering. Do you send it via waybill or God get account number?

Recently heard similar story from a friend. Our conversation evolved into church activities and she broke the news that she now attends Catholic (like me). “Why..?” I asked. And it was all tales of choir and general church related pressures (pressure to get different outfits for almost every other Sunday or function, cater to transport costs for different occasions, holier than though and general hypocritical intolerance, etc).

This is usually not the case in the Western world (who embraced Christianity before Africa). Most times, no one cares how you dress to Church.

A lot of these people are just trying to make ends meet. So the churches should desist from chasing them away with these unnecessary pressures. It’s more annoying when these people have challenges and go to the church for some succor, and start hearing excuses like: “the church cannot cater to such requests “, “we do not want to set precedence “,…. The churches need to do better.

The church is turning into a breeding groung for virtue hawkers but CAN has nothing to say about it. They're busy supporting bigots like Amupitan and criminals like the pastor in Iseyin.

Sundays have become a day of immoral dressing galore. Pastorpreneurs are not complaining, rather they want it.

One day we will have the Epstein files of Nigeria and I won't be surprised to see the likes of Oyedepo and Odumeje topping the list.
