Cats are not immune to snake venom. That being said, cats do hunt and regularly kill highly venomous snakes. The reason why they can do this is that cats(house cats in particular) have incredibly quick reflexes(by some estimates, at least 20 times faster than human reflexes) and much faster that snakes can strike.

If you are interested in the GOAT of snake control you should go for a honey badger or a mongoose. Not only do they have incredibly fast reflexes(even faster than the house cat) but they are immune to virtually all known snake venom.

7 years ago when I was building my own house just besides my family house... I had gone out at around 10 pm to count 16mm rods that was delivered earlier in the day ..Just close to the heap of rods I made out a slithering figure,but moving in a crooked manner...I noticed ,as I beamed light on it that the spine has been damaged.. it was easy to kill off with a bamboo stick I selected from a stack... And then I remembered hearing a cat's feline growl earlier ..as though fighting with a fellow cat or animal...( Cats often jump into our compound to scavenge)..

So I concluded that that earlier commotion was the cat battling this snake... I doubt if the snake was going to survive for long after that injury even without my input
