Don't pay without seeing a proper PCN in person or online. PCN should celarly show you the date and time of the alleged offence and a picture for your comfort that you truly committed the offence.

If the care sector increased wages to £50 - 65k, the need to sponsor overseas workers would evaporate overnight as they would have more than enough local workers willing to do the work for that pay.

Post Brexit, HGV driver salaries jumped to as much as £60-80k due to a massive shortage of drivers and the government's reluctance to open up a HGV visa route. The salary jump attracted loads of new workers and the staffing crisis was averted.

Subsequently though, instead of increasing pay, businesses lobbied Boris's government to relax visa conditions to bring in foreign workers and the rest is history... I believe Streeting is working on a Fair Pay Agreement for Adult Social care to increase pay and working conditions.

Re Spain - I think the plan is to issue a 1 year work permit which can then be renewed if conditions are met. After 5 years they should be able to apply for PR and citizenship in 10.
Adult social care already accounts for 75% - 80% of many council budgets - something must give to substantially grow the budgets. They can use their hatred for HCA to shoot themselves in the foot and tomorrow blame politicians for increasing taxes or the service being stripped bare.

No angel, they all have their short comings, Boris lied all through the covid period to the public while behind closed doors they were busy partying. ££££s wasted on PPEs that was never used or delivered.

KS knew about Mandelson link to Epstein even after his conviction but still gave him ambassadorial position, they are all acting shocked about this scandals

Members of Royal family pimping their kids to Epstein in-return for some ££££...absolutely no angel among them.

In fact I had to ask someone who supports the deluded orange man that if Tinubu talks the way Trump talks can he stand that?

We despise African leaders for the very same things Trump does just imagine the guy killed by ice agents in Minnesota I asked someone who was rationalising the rubbish that if it was the Nigerian police that did same back home would they justify such by any way? Some people have become mentally ill all in trying to support the orange man, very disgusting

They are not Christians; they are religious extremists, not different from the extremists in other religions.

Politicians are corrupt by default , but some politicians are more corrupt than others and that is the difference between the sorts of corruption we have back home and the corruption we have here.

My point exactly!!! How wicked do you need to be that your out of control agents shot someone 10times, you come out to support such hideous crime? And people still think that African leaders are barbaric?

I don;t think this scandal will out him unless more bombshell comes out soon. Now that the police have taken over the investigation Mandelson will be arrested pretty soon and more names will come out.

People are still going through the 3m files..so more dirty stuff will be exposed.

This Mandelson scandal, is worse than The Profumo affair..... Infact, it tops the league in British political scandals........

Watch this space....... The unfortunate thing is, do we go with a tax dodger, in the name of Angela or Wes Streeting, Ed, Shabana or Andy(the blocked one)........ 😂🤣

State of the UK in 2026 ??
Let's replay this scenario with another person that is streetwise......... What would that person do (assuming the person did not want to leave the UK)..........

Spend tangible time looking for someone to marry, ensuring all prerequisites are ticked........ We walk down the aisle, putting an end to COS wahala...... Return to the UK with full spousal visa...... 🇬🇧😂🤣

Already many councils are broke or on the verge bankruptcy mostly due to rising social care costs. The thing about social care (just like health) is that the government ultimately backstops most of it. Bearing the cost, they know how it pinches.

Like I've said on multiple occasions- the question has never been if migrants are wanted- it's always been if we can afford not to have them.

I'm all for a carer earning £100per hr in todays money but I wonder by how many multiples my fellow British voters want their council tax to be put up to pay for that. What percentage of the elderly, their relatives or parents of kids with special needs are ready for Social care to strip back their benefits to mitigate rising wage costs? Who bears the cost? Those are the real questions- not whether carers should be paid x or not.

Sometimes that is not the solution, sham marriage-like arrangement does not always have happy ending. I think she made the right decision to return to Nigeria without over staying or getting involved in some silly stuff.

I know someone in a similar position who refused to leave the UK when the jobs aren't coming, she has over stayed her visa for more than 8yrs now, tagging along through church and under the table work.

I honestly can't overstay my visa by one day in this UK

Its tough enough for people with valid work permits, cant imagine how it must be for those who don't. 8 years?? Never! I will rather go to computer village and sell phones or PCs after taking loans from here grin

I have been seeing lots of videos like this and lots of people are entering the last 2 weeks of their visa even with the new rules on the horizon. Its quite tough and its not a great situation to be in but it is what it is.

A streetwise person would have planned for this scenario with other visa options like PR etc, would have had a valid US visit visa in hand as a last resort, and considerations or connect for what you have said on the other hand

cheesy

The church encouraged her, provide a cover for her, link her up with under table jobs and a lot more but ultimately it was her decision to go along with such thing.

A lot of folks were just carried away living in the uk on visas, all the signs were there, historical facts were there but somehow folks just continue to hope and wish for miracles. The uk system is an unforgiving system and brutal with no mercy, as long as you’re on a visa even if it’s a work visa you got to have a contingency plan and anticipate the worst. It’s what it is. I was on a skilled visa with a global firm but redundancy hit and I got laid off, my saving grace was my wife was also on a skilled visa as a teacher so I switch to become a dependent. I still have a pending application in the US and even with Trump am not expecting anything. My wife is also seeking teacher licenses in some Canadian provinces to explore opportunities there and once it clicks we are out. Honestly I don’t know how folks can completely rely on the Uk if you’re not yet on ilr even folks who are citizens are moving out then you that’s on a visa you’re behaving as if it’s your own country, people get mind o! And they continue to gaslight themselves, Issorite. We will all learn to streetwise by fire by force!

Sometimes, it isn't really about not planning; many people, despite their great plans, still fail, sometimes due to no fault of theirs. Most Nigerians I have interacted with usually have their immigration journey planned. But not everyone will have the luxury of a partner they could be dependent on or meet the requirements for the USA or Canada, so they are either stuck with the UK or return home. What do you say to those whose companies have promised a visa only to renege at the die minute, or to that person who was sacked by her sponsor and only has 60 days to find another COS, or those who have been looking for COS for almost a year but haven't been successful, despite attending many interviews for all sorts of roles?

When you find yourself as an immigrant in a country where the immigration rules change every market day, things become more complicated than they should. And even the smartest person can find themselves caught off guard. Since the White Paper announcement last year, getting COS even in the care sector has become more difficult. Bro, things dey sup o. Many people will either become overstayers or return back to Nigeria.

Bro, as I said earlier, the signs were all there, and getting a COS was never a guarantee of anything. I had it, and it vanished into thin air. I feel people should be more open-minded and be ready to either return to Nigeria or move elsewhere! I even appreciate those who have made up their minds, despite any immigration circumstances, to return home someday! So the excuse of getting caught off-guard doesn't hold much, I knew how some folks discouraged me from coming into this country initially, and these inconsistency in UK immigration policies were their major reason, so it's not something that started today, that is how the UK has been programmed to always rise against non-British according to their moodswings, the Europeans were chased away, the windrush generation had their own share, and these were folks that were more intergrated into the system compared to recent migrants. Everyone ought to be aware of this now and stop assuming things may be different.

Learning from patterns has never been a strong human trait. History is replete with humans making the same mistake time and time again.

It's the same reason people like Trump are in power today and Nigel Farage in the next four years.
