I am planning of travelling to the UK for my Msc programme. My main purpose of travelling is as a means of jakpa not that I really need the Msc. I sold the land i bought in Asaba in 2018 for N22m. I plan to use the money for the tuition fee deposit ( £5,000) and other travel expenses. The complete tuition fee is £15,330. I will study and work in other to pay the remaining balance.

My plan is to remain in the UK and work after my study. Please I need your advice.
The fundamental problem many Nigerians have is dishonesty
Too much lying
Thinking it is sense

You are dishonest and transparently not very smart but probably think you are

You want to japa period
You want japa advice
Cut all the crap story
No one cares how much you have if you are not sharing it with them

If you don't know what to do with your life call a family meeting

My brother if you are studying anything other na nursing please use the money and start business

It is very depressing here and it is not easy working and schooling because you are limited to 20hours though people exceed the 20h working but before you can make that money back it might take you 4years

My brother.. if you have sure link to leave this country, please do .. not just because of you .. but because of your kids , raising them in a sane environment, where they will grow normally and have better health care, good school and a better government that care about the citizens.. even if it's not UK , you can find a cheaper and better European country.. bro sME Dey close down for this country everyday .. no light , taxes from left , right and center.. we don’t have a central tax system, anybody ( agbero) go come with uniform collect from you go , another one to come collect .. cost of running businesses in Nigeria no be joke .. and the system is not helping SME at all ..
why do we always place our kids in the centre of Jakpa? Why can't the jakpa be because of us? Why always because of our kids?

If you jakpa because of kids, the kids will grow to forget you because kids raised abroad tend to drift away from their parents when they clock 18 and above.

Bros, find a good tech startup to invest in. Build your business, grow your brand, become a person of influence and watch UK chase you to relocate on a platter of gold!

My Brother, when I first traveled out of Nigeria, I was almost discouraged by my Mother and siblings, because I have a good job then.
Nigeria was not as bad and dangerous like this. But I just decided to make use of the opportunity with fears that if traveling did not work I will quickly come back home.

Today when I look back and the present failed state of Nigeria, I am not regretting ever travelling.
Nigeria have been destroyed beyond repair by the wicked politicians.

I can't even imagine how you go get 22m you go consider travel.

When the average Igbo boy for alaba only need half of that to blow. Make good money for Nigeria travel for leisure when you want. That's great gain.

Many of you don't love knowledge
You just seek prestige and better pay. You can have it all in Nigeria if you are a decent thinker

My fellow Nigerian with what you have you can still do an M.Sc and still do a business here in Nigeria just make sure you are very well informed nabout the business before you commence. As someone said the otherside is not always green. Whatever you do ensure you continue to develop yourself while doing anything else you choose to do.

Unless you have a backup support system, don't go to the Uk... many who went there in the last 2 years won't be honest with you. I left Nigeria 13 years ago, so I am not in Nigeria, neither am I in the Uk. My sister was part of the last Sept batch, a successful banker who could raise 20M all by herself in 2 years...... She has been finding it difficult ever since...At least, i pay half of her rent 800/400 pounds every month, if I don't, she will be in problem. Her job could only fetch her 800 pounds a month, and that's her rent alone.

Be wise, travelling is good, but know where you are going, do the analysis.

You won't find job immediately, you will pay rent, transport, feeding, adapt to weather, and other miscellaneous. It is not funny. 25M is a child's play in Uk today, if you have 40M, ok, you can endure till you find your feet.

Ebubu6:
the problem with that 22million naira is that if you're not well-trained in business, since you are Igbo, if you didn't do "igba boy", learn under a successful business master, for some years, then its a huge risk because the business may fail. If you don't have a successful coach in the line of business you're choosing who has accepted to mentor you the business may fail because as you are learning the ropes and making mistakes, you may be losing money and by the time you've fully learnt the ropes, the money may be depleted to a level you need to borrow or sell land again to restock enough and make impact. Moreso because Nigerians are poorer now and due to inflation, can not afford most things they use to afford before. Very high inflation so many people can't afford things so make very good inquiry on what is selling under this inflation economy before you key into it. Otherwise if you're afraid of all these risks and didn't grow up in a business background, my brother carry the money and japa. If you exhaust it in UK, if you are hardworking you can gain back the money by buying another land in another remote area, or investing in other things that will increase your savings earned from UK hustle, at least you'll be in environment where if you blow the money, you have hope of remaking it in no distant time. Annoying thing with Nigeria is if you blow any huge money, e fit take you 10 years or more to remake it back legitimately unless you're into fraud or politics or hard drug sales. So in otherwords it is very risky to lose in business in Nigeria because there is no support or another means of making it back. Still, some people still succeed in business while some others lose. The economy is just so messed up but some people still make it in the economy, while others don't. Its your choice to make. If you're willing to go to UK, be ready to work and work very very hard . And if you're ready to stay in Naija, be ready to endure if the money goes down cause another opportunity go hard.
Ogbeni, please go and learn how to write. This your epistle wey no get paragraph dey give man pikin serious headache. I don’t even know the point of the epistle angry

You can't work and pay your remaining school fees. You'll certainly be broken beyond repair. In fact, your plan will collapse. Don't forget, you are only allowed to work 20 hrs weekly. Also, there are no jobs to easily walk in and start working. At the end of the month, you may not be able to save up to £500. Keep in mind there'll be no post-study visa for you in the UK. That means you'll likely migrate to another country after your studies. In fact, don't consider UK. Look elsewhere. If possible, find scholarship opportunities.

I think that another factor you should consider is the influence of AI five years from now. Already, people are struggling with getting jobs. AI is seriously displacing lots of people from their jobs—NOT just IT jobs. Right now, no one is regulating its development and in few years, its influence on the labor market is going to be massive—negatively though. Organizations would always prefer to make more money, replacing people with machines where possible. As the AI continues to create unemployment, countries will begin to focus only on their citizens for jobs. You'll be forced to come back home, or remain a slave over there. You won't be able to make any serious money and you'll pay house rent all your life. Don't forget, you will likely have dependence/family given five years from now. Think!

Coming back to Nigeria, I'd say the country isn't encouraging right now but it's our country nonetheless. You can always find a way around sh!t here than over there. I'd encourage you invest that money here. Take some and buy a land, use the remaining to go into production, especially in the area of agriculture. Do your thing little by little and keep growing. Get a supportive woman to join you and keep growing. The world is growing wild and if you're not from money, it'll be very hard for you to become so rich. However, you can create a stable life that'll ultimately shield your family from lack. That's better than thinking your children would always get a job where you live because there'll always be jobs. Look, a time is coming that even football won't be profitable.

Start building for yourself and unborn family today, forget about this idea of looking for a job. The insecurity crisis in Nigeria is a government thing. Once the government changes, it will go with them.

Rather than waste those funds on a Masters degree in UK, I suggest you apply to the US EB1 or EB2 visa to see if you qualify as it gives you a fast track to green card and citizenship status. It is also not as expensive as a UK MSc.

You are better off with any route that does not waste your time splurging on a degree that you might find tough to get a job with, so use the funds to gain entry into a country that offers a track to citizenship, learn an in-demand skill in that country that enables you to secure a job once you land in that country.
