Lindiwesooft:No experience with this but I would recommend you get a new passport, primarily to have the DoB corrected. DoB is a key personal information used to ID people abroad, a non-matching DoB will likely be a big hurdle for you accessing many services and opportunities requiring your passport even if you manage to get past the visa process. Affidavit is unlikely to be considered strongly as a mitigation against wrong DoB, particularly one gotten from Nigeria (the bias exists abroad). Name may be a lesser issue as most Europeans only have 2 names on their official documents. |

Lindiwesooft:How did you even secure admission with discrepancies in your date of birth? That’s not even possible. If your degree or transcript shows a different DOB, the institution would require an official confirmation from your school to verify that the qualification genuinely belongs to you. |

| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Lindiwesooft: 10:57pm On Feb 10 |
Munchy22:My degree and transcript has my correct DOB and full name. My passport is the only thing with issues. Reason because my age in my NIN was entered incorrectly . So during my passport application it was my NIN details that was used even though I filled my correct DOF and full name during application. I went to NIN office today to correct it so I can go back to the immigration office make the passport correction but was to it will take me 2weeks for it do be done and cost 70k. |

Have a question that might have been asked and answered before - not sure. Is it a red flag for a lady with her kids to apply for a UK student visa alone without the father? The father has been away - like just left the home- for more than 4 years now without trace. Family members of the father are unwillingly to disclose is whereabout. Now the lady is moving on, going to the UK for studies with her 2 kids. I guess my question is will this affect visa approval on grounds that the father did not give consent that the kids should travel. But he has been missing for more than 4 years now. If this would affect, what are the gurus here advice should be the solution to avoid visa being denied. I will give any clarification if asked. |

If you are a single mother who wishes to get a Nigerian International passport and travel with your child abroad, This are the steps to take Do not be scared especially when you do not have the same last name as your child. The major requirements are now the child birth certificate, child NIN, one of the parents International passport, consent letter from one of the parents, Father's NIN or International passport or any official identification is mandatory.... mother's home address, father's address, father's phone number....basic information sha. In case the father of your child isn't willing to send his ID, you can simply get a sworn affidavit from a high Court stating how you alone is responsible for the child and other relevant information... Please remember to have that sworn affidavit with you whenever you travel with your child especially when you do not have a consent letter from the father...nobody will allow you get on that plane with your child without any of this...especially when you have different last name. Even with the same surname self. Also note the father of your child cannot travel outside the country with your child without your consent...even when they bear the same surname. I hope this information helps, i got this information from a single mother who is a frequent traveller. For further information, kindly visit the nearest immigration office. kevweflex: |

Vikkystar:This greatly helps immensly. What about in this case - I know you said you got this tips from a single mother who is a frequent traveller - where the father is no where to be found. He just ghosted his family for years now. I'm thinking arming yourself with a missing person report from the police wouldn't be a bad idea as well. |

Hello everyone sorry for the long write up. Please I want to make an enquiry. I applied for visa for January intake and was called for interview but I had to cancel the visa application because the interview date I was scheduled for is the same as the latest resumption date of my school so I had no choice but to cancel before the interview date. After the cancellation my school extended CAS till June and I immediately sent a paid mail to UKVI to reverse my cancellation and I received a response that my application will not be cancelled and I should proceed with the interview. Then I received a mail three days after they said I can still proceed with my application that my visa application has been cancelled and IHS fee has been refunded, the thing pain me die. My enquiry now is that I want to reapply for the next intake and I want to change my course but it is still with the same university. I want to change my course because I studied biochemistry during my undergraduate and the course I applied for in January was a business course (MBA Business leadership), now I want to change to MPh public health because that seems to be more related to my undergraduate degree. 1.) Will this course changes trigger an interview? 2.) And will me not attending the first interview I was scheduled for before cancelling the application also trigger another interview for another application I want to put in for? |

LudaChriz:Guy, Prodigy Finance is standard. UKVI knows them well. Denial doesn't usually come from the source (Prodigy), it comes from people not showing where the rest of the money living expenses is coming from. If your Prodigy loan covers 100% of tuition + living, you're solid. Just make sure your loan letter is the official one and clearly states the amount in GBP or USD. |

kevweflex:This is a 'Sole Responsibility' issue. Since the father has been ghosted for 4 years, she needs to prove she is the only one making decisions. A sworn affidavit is good, but adding a Police Missing Person report or letters from the kids' school/hospital showing only her name as the emergency contact makes the case bulletproof. UKVI wants to see that the father isn't involved at all. |

Sakuzi:Changing to Public Health is actually safer for you because it matches your Biochemistry background. It shows 'Academic Progression. 2. Cancelling the first one isn't a crime, but you MUST explain it in your new application. Tell them the truth the timing didn't work for the Jan intake. It shouldn't trigger an interview as long as your new CAS is solid and your 'Statement of Purpose' explains the switch clearly. you welcome |

Emmatee1816:Hello @Emmatee1816, sponsoring your wife is not a bad idea. And if you're thinking of joining her soon, MRes is the way to go. Concerning doing this yourself vs using an agency, both are feasible and all depends on your circumstances. Normally, agents do not charge to get you offers from schools or even visa apps. You also get to use that agent's experience to your advantage. Doesn't mean you can't do all these yourself still. It all boils down to preference |
