Catching Your Wife With Another Man On Your Matrimonial Bed Is Not A Crime...!!! by giftson102(op): 5:51am On Feb 16
Dear men, please learn to control your emotions and not take the law into your own hands..

If you Catch your Wife on your Matrimonial bed with another man that man has committed NO CRIME.

Yes.

Even if you saw them in action.

Shocking........

Adultery under most Nigerian criminal laws is not a criminal offence.

What does it mean?
It means:
🥢 You cannot beat him.
🥢 You cannot detain him.
🥢 You cannot call police to arrest him.
🥢 You cannot charge him to court for “sleeping with your wife.”

What you witnessed is only a ground to divorce, your wife not a crime.

So greet the man and let him go.
Painful, but that is the law.

However, if this same thing happens in some Northern states operating under Sharia-based criminal laws, the story changes.

There, adultery (zina) is treated as a criminal offence.
Meaning:
🥢 The man can be arrested.
🥢 The act can lead to prosecution.
🥢 It is no longer just a “family matter.”

Same country.

Different legal consequences.

This is why you must understand the law in your location before reacting in anger.
One wrong move assault, violence, or murder and you will move from “hurt husband” to “criminal defendant.”

Emotion is temporary.
Criminal record is permanent.

Before you react, know where you stand legally.

This is not about emotions. It's about what the law says. Don't get it twisted.
The op didn't say it was right but only emphasised the position of the law.

Abeg, ignorance is bliss o! I’ll just play mumu and pretend I didn’t see this post. I’ve deleted this from my memory already grin grin If I eventually enter that trap (marriage) and the 'deed' happens, I’ll just do my thing. When the police come, I’ll look them in the eye and say 'I didn't know' with a straight face.

I won't kill anybody sha, but the two of them must explain their 'manual' to me. Better yet, the man will tell me why he's enjoying what he didn't pay bride price for. You want to eat free soup without contributing for ingredients? We will see😂😂😂

The law u are quoting also recognises crime of passion nd temporary insanity-driven actions…
If fact.. if push comes to shove, the law can even recognise it as self defence… because the adulterous man wey get mind enter another person territory can easily be seen as an aggressor ….the wife and the husband are kukuma the only witness….

Sleeping with another man wife is already a dead sentence. That Baba down my village street go settle the man, there's no need of even catching them on my matrimonial bed. You think you are wise. Not all men is promiscuous, some are faithful, don't go near their property

Na mümü men still dey fight over women lol, woman wen INTENTIONALLY cheat/flirt/open legs for another man naim you dey fight another man for? Don't ever do that! Fight for money, connections and other interests (political, business, position, etc), not prick and towtow matter, that's senselessness..

Lemme give this sharp update to men, who are tired of their women but don't know what to do (or too afraid to man up to them), simply look for a way (a loophole) for your woman to flirt/cheat with another man, make sure you catch her. That way, you can easily tell her that you want another woman. And if she objects, kindly place her where she belong, I mean "na you cheat na you still day say make I nor friend/marry another woman, because I no drive you (that's if she has been good all along) go the streets I pick you from? Abeg go one side make I see front!"..

PS: I see some people up there arguing blindly with OP, some are even ranting. See, apart from bribery, corruption, religion and tribalism, another problem peculiar to most Nigerians is ITK, even when they are ignorant of the issue. To them, what they don't know does not exist, how pathetic! Instead of arguing with the OP from the point of emotion/ITK, why not argue with something reasonable? One even said he just finished from law school, how derogatory! And so, because he just finished from law school, does that now mean he can't teach you what you don't know? Another was giving empty threats, see, may God help you that the man who your woman cheated with is not higher than you financially, politically and/spiritually. You do too much, you will see yourself in prison. Most of the big names you see have strong spiritual back up that you can only but imagine. These politicians, entertainers and other big names in the society sleep with people's wives, you go diabolical, it returns "back to sender". That Enugu husband man's situation comes to mind...

Correct! It's only a weak and illogical man that fights another man over his wife. It's only your wife that owes you loyalty and not another person. Such epiphany should even make a man grateful and relieved and especially when the relationship hasn't gone too far like a relationship with just one kid or no kid.
