How will the case stand up in court when the NSA has not tendered any proof that his phone was actually tapped? An inquiring mind wants a quick answer. |

MrEar:Was the NSA phone tapped ? |
| Re: El-rufai: Tapping Someone’s Phone Criminal, Punishable By Law – Lawyer, Ogala by KosiGee(m): 11:37am On Feb 17 |
EyeCumInPiece:Maybe it was El Rufai and Ribadu that tapped the line and relayed the conversation to Tinubu to use against Obi. Remember they were still friends then. |

Lawyers in the house, can one be convicted based on what he said when not under oath or will evidence be required to prove? |
| Re: El-rufai: Tapping Someone’s Phone Criminal, Punishable By Law – Lawyer, Ogala by KosiGee(m): 11:39am On Feb 17 |
DaddyJapan:They might be actively working behind the scene. It’d be highly embarrassing for Ribadu to make an official and public statement admitting his line was hacked. |

To belong to the opposition implies you profess to be better than those you oppose and not being worse than they are. You must possess qualities that stand you apart from them. You must be above them in deeds and not just in words. In short, you must be impeccable! If, on the contrary, you have so many skeletons in your cupboard, be rest assured that they would use them as a rope to get you hanged. In the case of the "short man devil", he actually swims in iniquities yet trying to appear sanctimonious. He simply played into the the hands of those he had been targeting by making himself to becoming the target instead for opening his mouth too wide on national television. There's a saying that when a bird is trapped, it losts its ability to sing well. @hotseat |

commoditiesnig:What if El Rufai got the info from an insider and decided to say he tapped Ribadu's phone instead to protect his source? U think he is that stupid? |
| Re: El-rufai: Tapping Someone’s Phone Criminal, Punishable By Law – Lawyer, Ogala by Naustine(m): 11:56am On Feb 17 |
I think El Rufai outsmarted them here just to send them chasing shadows. If he said he got the info from someone, the NSA would be able to narrow down the leak to the few people around him who are aware. Mentioning tapping has got the ONSA looking at the wrong direction. I think it's a decoy |

Blessingedem80:Sir try not to confuse yourself, onus of this case is for NSA to prove the direct link to the phone tapping to El Rufai, even if the phone was actually tapped. As long as their is no direct link to him "yet", th court case is an effort in futility by the NSA. The admision on TV isn't an evidence! |

Wow so taping Peter obi's phone conversation during the last elections was a criminal offense. I'm just hearing this for the first |

I guess that in the case of tapping a government official's line, it's a great offence... And in tapping that of one of the top 10 most important government authority of a nation, it should be a treasonable felony. |

EyeCumInPiece:You meant the "yes daddy " tapping? Obi didn't take any action because he knew he will be embarrassed! |

LibertyRep:El Rufai is a master strategist. This Mallam knows how to drag a perceived enemy out in the rain and he also knows how to dance dirty. The truth is that the prosecutor, being the federal government, will have to prove that what El Rufai said is true. Mallam El Rufai could just have lied on national television. This could just be a game he is playing. It's possible he didn't tap any phone line. The only problem is that the FG will have to clearly prove that the NSA's number was tapped beyond reasonable doubt, which I am very sure they can't. El Rufai no be easy push over oo. The guy knows the game he is playing by bringing that issue out to the public. |

LibertyRep:Exactly, the act is very wrong and admitting with wrong excuses even make it worse. Even big wig opposition figures like Atiku and Obi hasn't make such incendiary outburst but coming from someone pissed off because of missing out ministerial appointment. He will be charged and send to prison for his stupidity. |

MrEar:Indeed... Speaking during an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST on Monday, Ogala said such an act was criminal and punishable by the law. According to him, beyond the Cybercrime Act, tapping someone’s phone may offend some sections of the Data Protection Act. Recall that El-Rufai admitted that he and others listened to the telephone conversations of the NSA after tapping his phone, an act that has received many criticisms from various quarters, including the presidency. |

iwaeda:Do you regularly phone in to Nigeria Info especially the programs featuring Jimi Disu? The respected lawyer Jiti Ogunye was very right in his interview with Jimi. The garrulous Nasir El-Rufai was very IRRESPONSIBLE for his careless talks. Even Captain Blade (Capt. Babangida Aliyu, rtd) who is a Fula like El-Rufai criticized him on Jimi Disu's program just before Jiti Ogunye spoke for his reckless talk on the phone tapping of Nuhu Ribadu's phone which is WORSE than even the early 1970s "Water Gate" scandal in the United States involving the former President Richard Nixon. Period. |
