My colleague who was scheduled for a training in UK received this refusal letter.
Firstly, the sponsor account that the visa officer mentioned is not in Naira , but was a dollar account , but somehow took it to be a naira account .

He wants to reapply immediately, what do you think he can do differently so as not to get another refusal.?

File official complaint or send PAP for errors to be acknowledged. The refusal is already on your file and is not a good look.

Guy this one na clear error from the ECO. They assumed the dollar figure was Naira.

No need to panic or reapply blindly. Just do a cover letter. Break down the math clearly (showing the exchange rate) and point out their mistake. Quote the refusal paragraph where the error dey.

The money dey, na just their eye dey pain them. Correct the error sharp sharp.

Hello everyone.
Please does anyone have an idea how long a visitors visa is taking these days?
I know it’s typically 3 weeks but I just wanted to know if anyone has gotten theirs recently and if yes - when did they apply.
Thanks

Nothing is complicated if you are organized.

Pay yourself a monthly salary. Same amount. Same day every month. Fill your form carefully. Ask questions if you need clarification.

Gather all documents related to your business. Read previous posts for guidance. We have addressed this scenario several times.

Please I need insight on what they can do to get a positive response for the next application. A friend's has tried inviting her mum twice now this is the second denial. The first application was denied over land documents not being properly named for her mum which they picked on to deny the visa. This time they didn't attach a bank statement to the application and that was the denial letter. The mum is a widow although she has a younger brother too in Naija but above 25 years old. Please share useful insights on next steps.
@giselle cashmadam jmoore and everyone else with helpful insight please
Sorry about the refusal.

Your friend needs to give the UK a break for now.

I don't see how she can shake off two back to back refusals without taking a break.

Let her try next year - unless others have a different opinion.

UK is not smiling these days. A third refusal will be a complete disaster. She must avoid that.

Thank you for the response.
There was actually like 2 years difference between the two refusals unfortunately the mum got another refusal with the latest application. What's the best way for them to present another application whenever else they do to avoid another denial. The mum is a petty trader and widow and they wanted her to spend sometime in UK to aid childcare. Someone was suggesting they get a lawyer, but she feels if they wait some months before trying again and give a better application they could get it then.

It's not that serious. Don't waste money on a lawyer.

Her profile makes her appear as a flight risk - petty trader and widow.

The burden is on her to prove that she has no need nor desire to stay in the UK beyond the duration of her visa.

Unfortunately, it is tough to convince them - especially with her profile.

However, they can write a detailed cover letter to explain that she needs a vacation and her children will ensure she does not overstay. Highlight reasons that will convince the visa officer that she has a life in Nigeria that she does not plan to abandon.

She can reapply whenever you are ready. There is no perfect time really.

A lawyer? Visa application is all about knowing what UK immigration is looking for. A lawyer can't help in this case.

A good agent can help improve the profile and increase chances of approval.
Pls don’t say this again.
Yes an immigration lawyer will turn the case around. A UK based immigration lawyer will over turn it around. Pls what exactly is the job description of a ‘good agent’?
You are funny or just pulling the poster’s legs.

Turn the case around with a complaint or another fresh application?
Have you seen the refusal letter she posted?

With both complaints or reconsideration or PAP sometimes judicial reviews, that is the work they do here in the UK. Immigration solicitors turn any case around, no matter how bad. Nothing new in the refusal letter.

The audacity! The average Nigerian doesnt see anything wrong here. You want to commit fraud, just to get UK visa. You obviously don't see the implication of what you are trying to do. We are so used to anyhowness and anormalies in this country. Kai!!
