Laundry business is a poor man job. Hand-to-mouth job that will leave you hustling for only what to eat. You can't invest or buy valueble things with it.
Chikarata2020:
U can survey the area and know if it's where working class people live a lot or all those big men area. Then u can start up a dry cleaning service for him, but it will cost u like 1m+. I have a close friend that ventured into it and cashed out big time, but the business no easy if u dey get work plenty.

Surprised right? That is one of the many abnormalities of doing business in a country like Nigeria.

Opening a boutique in a location where second hand clothes are more cherished and spending power is low due to economy won't thrive.

The boutique and Akara/roasted plantain seller can make 100k each a day and after they all minus cost of running the business from the 100k, who do think would make more profits?
The boutique owner pays huge rent, runs generator (fuel), electric bill, pays staffs and may be paying back loan borrowed to set up the business.

Don't look down on those road side sellers that spend much to run their businesses, their take home pay in a month will shock you.

Love800:
How will akara and plantain sellers make more money than big boutique owners?

He's been asking for help since and I didn't have the means. I have the means now. He doesn't have any choice. Anything I set up for him, I trust him to manage it very well.

Bros have you done any of these "business" you stated or you just figured them out of your head, as in motivational speaker stuff.
Lol, that was how some guy few years ago was always on tv doing advert for his seminar on 1000 businesses you can do with no capital. He use to charge ohh, people will pay and go, he collects their money, gives them motivational talk of how you can turn to dangote by starting small selling eg exporting kolanut, the gives them books he has written. At the end of the day na only him de make money from seminar. Lol
Ah no bro. 100% Speaking from experience. Besides the scrap machine bit .. there's no business there that I am not vested in either partially or fully.. One road no enter market, until you are in them Otedola realm that's when you can think of consolidating everything under a single umbrella, but whiles you are still building, there's a lot of room to move.. even for trial and error.. and I agree with you, it's not going to be just up and go and start making money. Partner up with people who are in the business already, maybe from another location, it's mostly about Territory.. I can rely on my plug if I get order and don't have products available, I make the call and I take my commission.. same way around. Point is there's demand for a lot of things, attitude, commitment and building relationship along is the first key after establishing for new businesses.. At least that's how you learn the ropes too.
