TomatoSauce1:Risky to put living with my friend’s family. I would advice - ‘I rent it’ OR ‘living with family’ and end it at that. There is no mandatory field to submit a tenancy agreement. |

I'm a resident of Canada and I would like to visit UK with my parents who live in Nigeria. My parents own a house in Nigeria and have very small businesses that make less than 500k/month. Their savings is most likely less than 1m Naira. All the expenses of the trip will be funded by me. what do yo think is the best way to go about the visa application and all? Thanks!! |

bolobalabogn:Inasmuch you will be sponsoring their trip, their own personal circumstances would be looked into. 1, Evidence that they own a business 2. Bank statement has to be clean. If they are using same personal account to do business transactions, that's a red flag. Debits for each month should be at most half of credits for the month. |

Hi everyone. I want to invite a relative to the UK. The person has a small business paying herself N200k to N300k a month with a bit of savings. She also has £1,000 in a Nigerian domiciliary account which has been there for over 1 year. Would it be better for me to invite and state I will sponsor her trip (with my bank statements etc) or should she say she will sponsor the trip herself? Will the Visa officer want to see clear evidence of where funds in her domiciliary account have come from? She has visited before it was a long time ago. Thanks |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by jmoore(m): 6:45pm On Feb 26 |
Arctic:It could have been better if she still has a copy of the previous application that was approved. That would have been a guide for you. Since it's long time ago, she may not have it. Narration of credits is good but if the narration of the credits are not self-explanatory, she should write a letter explaining the origin of the funds. Average expenses for UK trip is around 1,700 pounds for 2 weeks visit. If she's going to use all her savings for that, that won't be good. I think it's better you sponsor her. But she still has to present her domiciliary account as evidence of funds available to her. |

Kristaps85:My mum got her visa today and biometrics was last Thursday, so visa took just 8 days. This is her first time applying. She was unemployed too, and I stated we children send her monthly upkeep. That's all. I didn't upload her bank statement, just mine the sponsor. |

heykims:Congratulations. This is a one off situation. Refusals have definitely increased due to the current political situation. Perhaps she has previous travel history or previous strong ties that allowed her circumstances to be agreed with. Future applicants should not try this experiment if they are not willing to accept the possibility of a refusal as well. |

heykims:Congratulations Please how much did you wrote in pounce as amount you will use to sponsor ur mum? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Oggg: 4:31pm On Feb 28 |
Goodluck70000:This is never going to end sha.. ![]() Serious pain to watch that even after multiple and multiple UK refusals you still don’t know there is no currency called ‘pounce’. Try, directtt this energy at learning the currency of the UK. |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by heykims(m): 12:48am On Mar 01 |
Goodluck70000:I am a sponsor fully sponsoring my mum. The £1500 was only for her flight and maybe living expenses. She would be staying with me, and I uploaded evidence of rent. I submitted 3 months statement which finished at over £5000. |

Goodluck70000:Fill a new application form and input the details of the new hotel booking. Then at their biometric appointment, opt for assisted service and they will help them upload the new form on their profile and remove the old one. You can not edit the form because they have it stored in their system already and they will only need to scan a barcode to get all the information you have filled in the form. Note that you will pay additional fee for the assisted service, if you don't want to pay, the next best thing is to withdraw the application and reapply. |

Goodluck70000:Simple rebook same hotel. You might need to rebook a more expensive room - unless all the rooms are completely sold out. Try that and let us know if you need further support. Good luck! |

poetictwenty:I just wanted to provide update on this because I believe it may help someone else in future. 12/2/2026 I got the refusal letter /email from UKVI 19/2/2026 my company (the sponsor) sent PAPon my behalf 27/2/2026 they replied our HR that my application is being reconsidered 3/3/2026 I got a call from the Embassy to resubmit my passport at VFS office, reason being that the refusal has been overturned 4/3/2026 I got a mail to come collect my passport VISA ISSUED. DOCUMENTS MY COMPANY COLLECTED FROM ME FOR THE APPEAL -Breakdown of all deposits in the statement of account I submitted. Lesson learnt Include a support document ( e.g cover letter) detailing any large deposit into your account that was not your salary.
