Good evening Nairalanders, I am considering applying for U.K tourist visa come June ,2026. I am a Director)Share holder in a limited liability company which has been operating since year 2014. A friend will be sending me the invitation letter , and I will be supporting my application with 3 months statement off accounts with a balance of 6million naira. My monthly earning is about 600k. I'm single but have a kid. Please note I had 2 previous student visa refusals in 2008 and 2009 respectively which means my last application at the UK embassy was 17 years ago. From the above explanation of my circumstance, am I good to go?. Thank you |

duncanmighty:Do you pay yourself a salary from your business? Do you have a separate account from your business Do you have travel history Closing balance isn't the issue..it's what your monthly expenses are compared to what you will spend on your trip Invitation letter is neither here or there, is your friend responsible for your accommodation, would he be covering your food expenses Is your company registered? Do you have history of tax payments What would tie you to Nigeria? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by duncanmighty: 3:14pm On Mar 06*. Modified: 11:12pm On Mar 16 |
Thank you Taal, Yes the company pays 600k is into my personal account on monthly basis and my expenses for the month is between 450 kand 550k(depends) For travel history, I visited South Africa in 2013 and UAE in 2016.. Yes he will be responsible for accomodations being the invitee. Or do you think applying as a tourist with hotel reservation would fly if there could be complications? ...and YES the company is registered and active since 2014 and I intend to attach with the application the CAC certificate, Memorandum of Association showing the names of the 3 directors and the Licence from the relevant federal Govt regulatory agency (I hope this is enough to tie to Nigeria and my child) Unfortunately , I do not have history of personal tax payment. Looking forward to feedbacks. Thanks Taal17: |

duncanmighty:How long is your trip for? Calculate what this visit would cost you personally ? Flight, transport, food etc In your monthly expenses of 450k does this include your dependents |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by duncanmighty: 7:02pm On Mar 06 |
The trip is intended for 3 weeks. And spending like 3million naira on the trip including flight fare , food and transportation. YES, the 450k includes dependant If I choose to opt for hotel, I can see hostels on booking.com that less than 1million naira will cover for the entire period What's your take ? Thamks Taal17: |

duncanmighty:With the current climate in the Uk, the profile you have listed will get you a refusal. Home office is not smiling at the moment. Red flags= self employment so can stay back in the Uk and not return No tax payment since 2014= ?sketchy business profile Travel to Sa and Uae almost 9 years ago= not good enough 3 months bank statement with 6 million and less proof of how this was accumulated … ?? 600k salary ?? 450k expenses= 150k disposable income = hmmm red flags x 20. How did a person with a disposable income of 150k accumulate 6 million naira. 3 weeks holiday to visit friend= zero genuine intent Fighting age man= asylum seeker Don’t go and taint your travel profile, they wouldn’t give you a visa at this time. Sorry to say. |

giselle237:My question is as self employed business owner who pays herself monthly salary with active Schenge (France visa) and have visited Europe multiple times without violating the law, you dnt pay tax as a business owner since 2020 please is there a chance of getting uk visa approved if i apply Because it seems uk visa is hard for business owners… |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 5:41pm On Mar 08*. Modified: 9:15pm On Mar 08 |
Abikeadebey:I'm responding to you statement about taxes Your business is likely to be liable for tax or at at least show you filed returns If you have employees then you remit PAYE to your state. Unless they are paid less than minimum wage. Taxes and filing is one way to prove your business is actually real. It's why it supports your proof of source of income |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Abikeadebey: 6:11pm On Mar 08 |
Taal17:I fill only annual returns, never paid tax because I feel it’s a sole business I dnt have workers….. but i pay myself salary monthly |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 9:13pm On Mar 08 |
duncanmighty:Based on the sole source of income you have shared which is 600k per month then your disposable income is 150k so it would take you 20 months to save 3mill. You might want to do more than 3 months of statements or indicate other sources of income you can verify.Or other savings you jave . You can highlight the salary from your business in the statement so it's clear. Give it a try, at least start filling the form You can clarify any information in the space |

Thank you Taal, the company has been paying taxes(corporate). On a quarterly basis, 500k is paid into the personal account being for allowances. It's a company in which Iam one of the Directors. Taal17: |

Please is it a must to link a six month visit visa to the e-visa? My parents in-law can’t seem to figure out how to access their e-visa. I’ve created the ukvi account for her but she still needs to download the uk immigration ID check to confirm her identity and that’s what I’m asking if there’s a way around it? |

Hello, my mum has applied for her visiting visa three times and it has been refused. Attached are the reasons for refusal. Does anyone have any advice in terms of what to do please.
|
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by jmoore(m): 8:19am On Mar 10 |
Sarahsarah:A whole lot needs to be done. Anything you write in the application should be backed with evidence. If you say you earn 150k, you should have payslips or bank credit with self-explanatory narration of 150k as salary. You can only use same bank statement to sponsor two people if the balance is more than sufficient enough for two. Your cover letter needs to be improved to explain your circumstances better. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 8:59am On Mar 10 |
Sarahsarah:Sorry about the refusals. Always better to avoid the first one as they pay more attention to details with subsequent applications. As it is, I don't see how your Mum will get the visa in the near future. Her income is simply too low and it portrays her as a flight risk. However, if you are able to prove that she has a very good reason to come back to Nigeria and you sponsor her fully, it might fly. Improve on the cover letter and try sometime next year... |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Sarahsarah: 9:12am On Mar 10 |
Cashmadam:But she isn’t sponsoring herself. That’s why she has a sponsor, a job and her kids are tying her back home. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Sarahsarah: 9:14am On Mar 10 |
jmoore:How soon would you advise to reapply? Her main reason for visiting is to come see her grandchild as she wasn’t able to make it for the wedding due to the visa refusal. |
