AbelAbdul:We both agree on one thing: do it yourself, as I am also a do-it-yourself kind of person. But if you must use an agent which I know some people believe so much in agent for reasons I do not know why, make sure you use a licensed one, and in Nigeria we only have seven. Another thing next time, please don’t sneak diss me @ my name 😄😄. |

I will be starting college in Halifax this March and I am currently booking my flight. I found a route from Lagos to London,UK and then directly to Halifax. Can I book this flight and receive my study permit at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, or do I need to arrive first in Toronto or Montreal to get my study permit? Thank you. |

Thanks. We are gathering documentation to apply next week. The husband will not join in applying just the 2boys and my aunt. She also have a friend who also got same program in Uregina - Leadership. Her friend also plan to come with her family, she has 2biological kids (15years and 12years) + 1 step son ( that already applied for stdent visa separately) + 2 adopted kids ( 5years and 8years) . the beuty with her friend application was that they all secured visit visa last year. And her biological kids visit visa would expired August because that was when the passport expires while the 2 adopted kids also has visa expiratio for around August. The step son visa expires in 2028, while her visitor visa was 10years. She plan to resume studies in August. They ask me for my opinion and I tol them I will try check from my guru friend in a forum. For teh minor kids, should the join the mother apply for studies permit or they shouldnt , just travel with the mum and ask at point of entry they plan to study elementary sand high school. Any thought house. Thanks for anticipated suggestion or people with similar expirence One more thinsg the step son is 20years and going to saskpoly where he plans to study BIS The 2 addopted kids where from late husband niece - And the family two those kids and has been training then for 1 year now and would like want to take the kids to canada of cause with father concern JMG12: |

Thanks for your response but if I may ask after the payment of 2000 deposit to secure my seat, it was stated that 8,879 remaining tuition balance for first semester should be pay by May 1. So now my question is that if I pay additional like 3k to 4k Cad then apply for study permit is this okay enough then the remaining tuition balance plus living expenses will be in POF thanks.[uote author=amnotapervert post=138683774] The school asked you to pay $2,000 first because if your study permit is rejected, it is easier for them to process and refund that amount back to you. So just follow the school's instructions and do not rush the process. Paying the $2,000 deposit already shows that you are willing and able to remove money from your account to pay for your school fees. Also, make sure the remaining tuition fees plus your living expenses https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html are available in your bank account. It is also good to add a little extra money to show that you have additional funds in case of unexpected expenses. Some people refer to this as miscellaneous expenses because trust me you will be spending alot of miscellaneous expenses don't be like AbelAbdul who keeps getting admission he currently has 3 admission but keeps getting back to back Visa rejection because no funds and blames everyone online for picking schools he can not afford[/quote] |

Since you are in can, you should factor in the charges for a caregiver. More importantly, you will need to prove the source of the funds, not just to have it in your account. b4biodun: |

Good evening Everyone, and thanks for the help you provide here. Please i have been admitted for Fall 2026 intake and my question is will it be too late to apply for visa by June am asking because i am self-sponsoring myself and i am still saving up money for my program. Though I can pay my first year tuition fee now by June i would have saved up enough money for my living expenses and transportation costs. I have already started gathering the necessary documents with hopes to be able to submit my visa application beginning of June, 2026. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ehiremen2002: 1:15am On Mar 09 |
Thanks. I Have got through and it clear they need student permit in both cases. My aunty and her friend. but for my Aunt friend where the kids already has visitor visa, was wondering if she should only apply for herself and at the point of entry decalre that they will be studying and get the student permit for the kids then JMG12: |

Geoawesome:Currently, the processing time as of today is 8 weeks. However, many people (Nigerians) applying from outside Canada have mentioned that it is taking longer than 8 weeks some report 11 to 13 weeks. If you submit in the first week of June, it should hopefully be okay if everything goes smoothly, but it is quite tight timing. Wishing you all the best. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

I got this from old post of successful application. Abit old hope it can as well help in my Aunty and her friend application. As I plan to guide them through the process. FOr AUnty friend, we are contemplating to leave the 4 kids of her application so if she secure the student permit, when travelling the kids can declare at the point of entry they will be studying DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED FOR SELF 1. I mentioned some courses of the curriculum of my school, ( I listed the specific courses I will be learning) and explained how those courses are in line with what my company needs at this time to take us to the next level. ( I provided a detailed analysis of my available funds and captured that on an excel sheet before transferring it to a word doc. I also stated sources of funds to fund my year 2 tuition and living expenses for myself and kids. ( A friend advised me to do this breakdown as this shows clarity and confidence before the VO that you have planned ahead and are able to cater for your program for year two also. She said this also helped her in her application, my friend has been in Canada for 2 years now, she also went on study visa) • Spouse Pension statement. 4. hey guys i am trying to get your thoughts on this...A student that studied in china for 4 years (nursing) recently graduated moved back to Nigeria (2026) and wants to do a masters in Public Health in Canada, is it advisable for her to apply with spouse? Also how can she strengthen her application (Home-ties) citing the fact that she has been away for 4 years, is this a red flag? |

Seems their visitor visa expires sometime in August 2026. If they are to leave July would that be an issue ? They will have less than 2months or less left on visitor visa. The other option is adding them to the mum visitor visa, but that would make the application a bit complicated student visa with accompanying 5 dependants JMG12: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:55am On Mar 10 |
She can submit her SP. If she gets the approval, then all of them will enter Canada with the VV, and she can apply for SP for them. ehiremen2002: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:19am On Mar 10 |
Hey, in this situation it is better she apply alone; if approved, then she can apply for her husband. She will use the husband as a home tie, just like in the case of China; she is not yet employed. So this greatly increases approval chances. juliusocean: |
