HustlaOfLagos:Like another poster commented, it is perfectly possible to do both, and more. I think your argument back then was that there was no threat from China and that the UK was making stuff up because we were jealous of their EVs 😋 |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by HustlaOfLagos: 2:38pm On Mar 05 |
sconp:I do not understand how a security concept as simple and basic as this is being deliberately convoluted AGAIN, I will repeat It is far easier to pay / socially engineer someone than to add listening devices / components that can be easily discovered to EVs. Less trouble, more info will be gathered and people can be gotten to spy for as little as promise to get passport, entry for their wards into exclusive private schools etc. It is also far easier to use Pegasus to spy on a nation state level than the EV car crap A MOLE IS FAR LESS LIKELY TO BE DETECTED OR UNCOVERED AND GATHERS WAY MORE INFORMATION THAN A LISTENING DEVICE. HOW HARD IS THIS CONCEPT ?!!No sensible nation state actor in modern times will go the EV route & we all know why the "national security" crap is used when it comes to China |

Goodenoch:Reading... This negative net migration part I am looking forward to, so they can stop all the noise & we can all learn statistics together -"One result is that governments are constantly behind the curve. Net migration might turn negative this year, with dire consequences for crucial public services, especially hospitals, care homes and universities as well as many private employers." |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by sconp: 5:21pm On Mar 05 |
HustlaOfLagos:Lol I wonder why the possibility of EVs being used as spy devices seem impossible to you. All countries use multiple means to gather information and spy on others, the cost isn't a bother. There are different methods for intelligence gathering - humans, tech, animals etc Israel bugged pagers and used them to blow up Hezbollah. In this current war, Israel hacked and used Iran's street camera to monitor their securities in Iran. In vault 7 leaks showed that CIA could turn smart gadgets into listening devices and control them. In spycraft every avenue could be used. |

The Prime Minister and Home Secretary should not listen to Kemi. Applying these changes retrospectively would be inhumane and unfair. For fairness, the changes should apply only going forward. Kemi’s tactic appears to be pushing for the ILR reform to be passed as primary legislation to limit legal challenges, so that with votes from Conservatives, Reform, and some Labour MPs, it could pass through Parliament more easily. |

The changes to ILR won't be effective until towards the next election. If you doubt me, go and watch her interview with GB news. She has already hinted but they are trying to be politically correct. Those that are applying for ILR by Q1 2028 will not have issue because TA will be available for them but then your house hold income should not be less than rrasonable |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by elengine: 10:59am On Mar 08 |
This is her interview with GB news: “Home Secretary said in interview that she made a series of announcements and made really radical changes and she will be legislating later this year to put this into law and to make sure that system run very differently in the future. Journalist : when is this judgement for you ? Two years time one year time? Home Secretary: over the next year or two, we will be rolling out these reforms and I would expect them to start making changes and of course as we get toward the end of this parliament. I would expect the new systems to be up and running. Me: I hope the idiot youtubers would not pick this my summary and be louding it in a bid to earn youtube money that will kill them all |

It’s good to be optimistic, and that may work out well for most people. However, the Home Secretary’s detailed speeches , body language and interviews suggest otherwise. From her analysis, the main concern appears to be the group she describes as low-skilled workers particularly care workers and their dependants who have come to the UK since the care visa was introduced in February 2022. and who will soon become eligible for ILR and potentially benefits. That is what is creating the uncertainty. elengine: |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by jedisco(m): 3:23am On Mar 09 |
elengine:Interesting... it seems the loss to and rising popularity of the Greens has caused alot of unease in the Labour camp. It was the right wing media that first brought up extending ILR period before Labour quickly jumped on it hoping to win votes. The rightward tilt by labour was done hurriedly to counter a rising Reform. It's becoming clear they have not won any votes via that move instead, they're losing lots of their traditional voters. Net migration is already down. Couple that with below replacement birth rates and if modern economic history is lesson enough, there'd be attendant economic challenges ahead. I wouldn't hold my breath but it wouldn't surprise me they move this forward/water it down which would also not look good on them. |

jedisco:Shebi they said it’s what the British people want! They should continue nah For me though many will disagree they may also be wary of the courts! Remember how the Rwanda stuff ended too. If they were more tactical they can do this stuff silently without all the noise, like you said net migration is down build on that and let the data continue to speak for itself which you can then use for your political advantage but the pm is a learner in politics. He’s even lucky he’s still in office after all the Epstein drama! |

Articles like this from The Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/03/08/labour-spend-10bn-foreign-care-workers-rising-unemployment/ are being used by some to justify the need for these reforms. Goke7: |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by HustlaOfLagos: 1:19pm On Mar 09 |
Rapitex: ![]() The article makes it seem as almost everyone will go on benefits after ILR. Propaganda just dey swallow propaganda for this country. The changes are geared specifically towards care workers but they decided to drag everyone else into that net so as not to seem bias which is why most of the caveats are slightly attainable by folks in other sectors Intelligent play, I must say but lessons will be learnt. They continuously spit the below rhetoric but the same people who could not do those jobs in 2022, what has changed that will make them want to do it in 2026? Unemployment figures stood at 13% in 2021 and 16% in 2025 but I remember those who came in 2021 saying agencies used to beg them to work at x3 pay and even book Uber for them & still British people did not do those jobs “Care work is vital and we must incentivise the millions of inactive British workers on welfare back into work. We must stop importing overseas labour when we already have so much available here in the UK,” said Reform’s Richard Tice. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 2:39pm On Mar 09 |
HustlaOfLagos:The real fear which one of us has emphasised here before is the exit from the care sector of these workers when they get ilr 😂 but let’s continue to gaslight ourselves. They have to continue to use the benefits thing to justify their excuses. Already oversea care workers have been stopped so I wonder who are they still importing into the country! |
