A lady has shared an emotional story about love, faith, and heartbreak after a 21-day church fast ended in an unexpected way for her, Rep9ja reports.

The story, which has been circulating widely on social media, tells how she believed a man she admired deeply would eventually become her husband.

According to her, everything seemed to point in that direction until the final day of the fast brought a shocking twist.

How The Fast Began:

She explained that her pastor announced a 21-day fast focused on seeking clarity in relationships. At the time, she already had someone in mind.

The man, she said, was kind, intentional, and spiritually grounded. They often prayed together, served in church together, and spoke frequently about purpose and faith.

Because of that connection, she decided to add a personal prayer request during the fast. “Lord, if he is my husband, confirm it clearly.”

She kept the prayer private, except for one person — her prayer partner, whom she referred to as Grace.

Prayers Shared With a Close Friend:

Throughout the fast, the two women prayed together every evening. They held hands, prayed for their futures, and encouraged each other during the 21-day spiritual exercise.

At one point, she admitted to Grace that she believed the man might be the one meant for her. “I think he might be the one.”

Grace responded calmly. “Then let’s pray God’s will.”

For the entire period, she said she stayed focused and disciplined, avoiding sugar and other distractions while praying earnestly.

On the final day of the fast, which ended on a Sunday, the man asked to speak with her after church service.

She said her heart was racing, believing her prayers had finally been answered. However, the conversation quickly took a different turn.

The man reportedly told her he valued her deeply but had been praying during the fast and felt led in another direction.

When she asked who the person was, he eventually revealed the name. It was Grace — her prayer partner.

The woman said she struggled to process the moment and later sat in her car feeling embarrassed and heartbroken.

Two weeks later, engagement photos of the couple appeared online. The caption accompanying the photos read: “When you fast and God answers.”
