Students in the viral video bullying a junior student of Igbinedion Education Centre, Benin have been expelled from school.

A statement by the management of the school said announcing the expulsion reads:

Benin City? I'm sure the parents of that poor boy knows what to do. That boy needs to be sent to a boarding school outside the state if they don't have any relative outside he can stay with. If you don't gerrint then forgerrint

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Cultism taken too far .

I feel for his parents sadly. But poor parenting could be another factor to look into, as to why some of these students behave in such a manner

But this is good riddance. Our society must be sane at all costs.

There are people who bully with their words and attitude, how do we handle such people.

Rich bullies the poor.
Sometimes it has nothing to do with poor parenting.

Go and get properly educated.
There are Remand and Juvenile Homes for criminals of his age.
But not jail as you are insinuating.....you can't jail juveniles.....you are the one who needs proper education.

The 11th commandment.... Don't get caught!

If all students equally guilty of this wicked act are to be identified and expelled nationwide, boys population in senior secondary schools will drop over 20% overnight. That's the sad reality. Bullying is everywhere, and it's institutionalised in some type of boarding schools especially. Just as Stealing for fun of it too.

It's an unfortunate act, I specially feel sorry for the victim. Let justice be done, but let's overhaul our public institutions. Too much injustice and impunity everywhere
This thing you've written is absolutely gibberish.

People choose to be bullies and criminals...no two ways about it.

All of us go school too. We no bully anybody.

See the way he was walking with his shoulders high, no difference between him and his father sef.
His father is the problem. It is not possible for a well-raised child to behave that way.

Tell me how that boy will train his own children to be responsible in life? You cannot give what you don't have.

You remand them in juvenile homes......where they undergo welfare by the govt......it's not same as jailing.......in jail you are going to pray for your crimes but in juveniles they are going to get reformed and get corrected while in jail you are condemned for doing crime......they're 2 different things.

Your opinion might be applied in western countries, not in Nigeria.

But this act could also be as a result of poor parenting, I hope you know?

Parents are failing these days. I was a private school teacher for many years and what I saw from students really made me cry.
And they will still fail. A lot of them are reading or reacting to this thread too. Very poor parenting. They raise spoilt children, all in the name of civilization or ‘bandwagonism’.

Any judge found to have jailed a juvenile can get heavily penalised for dereliction and even prisons will reject them if they find out they are minors......the law doesn't treat crimes by minors and adults as same even here in Nigeria.

If we recount the stories of boarding school then almost everyone would have been expelled then.
Re: Igbinedion Education Centre, Benin Expels Students For Bullying (video) by Cherrybae(f): 9:24am On Mar 14
If those boys are in SS3 definitely they won't sit foray / June WAEC as I doubt they can register in any other school as registration seem to have ended.

I feel for the parents as this is a huge embarrassment

I'm telling you bro.
These days, a teacher can't discipline a child anymore. Let's even leave flogging. A teacher can't verbally correct a learner. A teacher says something, a the learner misconstrues it, reports to their parents and school mgt, and you start hearing stuff like "Such comments will affect the mental health of the learner".
Imagine a student telling a teacher that he's broke that's why he can't afford an Android phone. The teacher buys a brand new Android phone afterwards, and same student says it's a "fairly used" phone.

Imagine telling a teacher he wears Okrika clothes?

But the sch MGT can't call the learner to order , if you the teacher react, you're in trouble, you'll take the blame for not seeing the insults as a child's talk.

Omorr.. I suffer o

These boys never jam unforgiven parents. After expulsion, dem go corner them for road and send them to orthopedic hospitals where they would spend like 2 years minimum fixing their damaged legs and arms. They would be lucky not to be permanently disabled. Just teenagers beating someone they are only 3 to 5 years older than. What they don't know is that they can be saying 'yes sir'to that kid in the next 20 years. Just 3 to 5 years age difference. Na wahoo. Cos they have grown bigger at that stage than the victim.

Good you left the job. Most private school owners are after money. They don’t want what will block such money from coming.

Mental health ko; lunatic health ni.

🤣🤣🤣
So many instances.

At some point, I became a shadow of myself, felt suppressed and bullied. I was even the Best staff there cos I had "Teacher of the year" Award for two consecutive years. I was everywhere anchoring PTA meetings, graduation parties, as a result of my good oratory skills.
I lost confidence in myself, became a shadow of myself and had to leave. Went to work one morning, and it occurred to me that I should just leave. They were supposed to pay our salaries four days after that day I left, but I couldn't just wait.

There was a time this wayward kid slapped the head of school at my kid's school...when the kids were discussing it, my kid said "ah if I try this my dad will kill me"...apparently someone who heard went to report what he said to the school and they called me saying sh*t like they wanted to understand the kind of environment he was living in at home...I asked the woman who called...can & will your kid be able to slap a school administrator? She said no...i said "well, I raised my kids to be respectful and he knows his limits...trust me, it could've escalated but it got sorted.

This bad child's parents bear a big part of the blame.

Orlandoo:
You are not far from the truth. Some parents are something else. You cannot give what you don't have. The parents themselves lack home training too. Tell me how that boy walking with his shoulders high would train his children to be responsible in life. And the cycle continues.

You took a right decision. By now, things would have gone South. Work on yourself and become a better person. When you meet the proprietor in future, I pray you are able to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him and even above him.

Some better wards will remember you for what you stood for, when you were their teacher.

Till today, I still pray for, and look out for Mr. Uche, a youth corp member who taught me financial accounting in 1989/90. May God bless him and his things.

[quote author=Orlandoo post=138764028]This is not only a case of expulsion, the perpetrators should be arrested and jailed too.[/quote UNFORTUNATELY, THE FATHER OF ONE OF THE BOYS HAS TAKING HIM OUT OF THE COUNTRY. THIS IS HOW USELESS SOME PARENTS CAN BE.
