He should be more than 62 years old. He was a great player long before the advent of the legendary Rashidi Yeking

You're very correct
He would have been 62 years old on June 14th this year.
Many Nigerians are dying needlessly due to the very bad health sector.
NA God Almighty dey help person & keep us alive to see the next day, week, month & year.
RIP to the deceased football ⚽ legend.
If he'll officially be 62yo this year, then you have to factor in "football age"

Damn. Rip to the dead. God rest his soul
The first time I watched Henry Nwosu play was in 1979 in Ikorodu Lagos when he featured, in company of his friend Wakilu Oyenuga, for Nigeria External Telecommunications Ltd (NET) Versus Nichemtex Nig Ltd. The match took place at Methodist Primary School, Ikorodu, Lagos.

I was in primary 6 then. He wore jersey no 10, with a bound round his head and wrist while Wakilu Oyenuga wore no 9.

He was very very young and was the darling of everyone. His combo with Wakilu Oyenuga was amazing bcoz Wakilu Oyenuga was very good in the air. I recall the name of the Nichemtex goalie, Leo. A talented Anambra young chap but I didn't hear anything about him in any club again. We used to call him Omo nna.

But Henry moved up to Principal Cup, which was like War in Lagos in those days. I think he played for St Finbars or Gregory. I can't remember. He moved to junior Eagles and later senior Eagles where he won Laurels for his fatherland.

He did his best for his fatherland without commensurate reward.

May the perpetual light of God shine upon Henry Nwosu, forgive his shortcomings, and cause his sleep to be blissful. May God strengthen friends and family members that he left behind.

Segun Odegbami thanks for all you're doing for all our legends. May God reward you abundantly.

Henry, rest on at the bosom of your maker.
Re: Henry Nwosu Is Dead by Reference(m): 1:36pm On Mar 14
My oh my oh my.... what a tragedy.
Wow, what happened to him.
Kai, this is terrible news.
Rip legend of the round leather game in Nigeria.
Will be sorely missed.
Fond memories of his playing days and that wonderful downward header that beat the Camerounian goalie at AFCON Maroc 88.
First time I had seen such a technique and it stays with me till this day.
May his family, loved ones and friends take heart.
Re: Henry Nwosu Is Dead by IMPARTIAL: 1:38pm On Mar 14

I'm sure he's not up to 65yo! What is really happening in this country please? People no longer live to old age here! Quite unfortunate!

Please let Nigerians arise and demand improved healthcare from government. Our public hospitals need a total overhaul, not only in terms of facilities but also manpower and leadership!

Sometimes when I remember the number of our stars who died below the age of 65yo, I get scared honestly! From our actors, footballers and even politicians, it is scary! All these point to the fact that our healthcare system is in shambles.
Nigerians also need to work on their attitudes towards their healthcare! Stop patronising quacks or self medicating, instead, seek healthcare from qualified and licenced professionals.

Some of the diseases that kill us in this country could be treated if we seek quality healthcare on time!

RIP to the legend!
Show me you and your father, uncles, brother, sister, auntie, mama's TAX CLEARANCE/STATEMENT first!

These wonderful social services cost money and government has limited source of income hence they tax citizens. Because most of you are too wretched and unproductive Nigeria government has to rely on borrowing and levy on the oil sector. Abeg mechionu!

Henry Nwosu - Baba rest in peace!

It is well.
Re: Henry Nwosu Is Dead by ogaemma: 1:55pm On Mar 14
O my God 🙏
This is too hard to bear.
I remember him in NNB Benin City back in the 80's.
I also remember his very last Super Eagle's outting in Maroc 88.
That header goal that was disqualified.
Rest in Peace 🕯️ to a Green Eagle

Goodnight legend of Nigerian football ⚽

May God comfort his family in this sad time.

I remember being in the same primary school with one of his sons way back then.

The boy was praised as he played brilliantly like his dad!

How time flies.

Are you the mouthpiece of the government?

Why hold brief for people who loot and steal the commonwealth of Nigerians, while the people die in dilapidated hospitals, if you don't work for APC or hold biased views because of your ethnoreligious proclivities.

Why should Nigerians be eager to pay taxes to politicians, when they have shown a history of being lootocrats and kleptocrats? Why should Nigerians reinforce their thievery?

How much taxes were we paying, when the Saudi Royal family were coming to Nigeria for their medical check ups in the 60s and 70s?

It is in Nigeria that an ordinary recharge seller like Tunde Sabiu, can wake up one morning and become a multi-billionaire because he worked in Buhari's government.

A struggling lawyer like Festus Keyamo who was collecting 100k for charge-and-bail court appearances and got appointed as the Aviation minister and within few months became so wealthy because he works as Tinubu's minister.. Only in Nigeria.

Yet you want us to donate more taxes so that your lords in government positions can loot with reckless spree and throw some crumbs to your table..

Today, Saudi is Tax-free, Dubai is Tax-free, China has tax-free zones for their citizens, In these countries corruption is met with death sentence. They kill their thieving politicians who steal their Oil wealth meant for the provision of social services and healthcare

Can you see the correlation?

Why burden Nigeria with taxes, when you cannot properly account for their oil wealth?

May his soul rest in peace, Legend... You served the country even when renumeration in the Super Eagles was terribly poor.
Who told you so. He was among the people that received houses at Festac from Shehu Shagari administration in 1980.
Bcus of his legendary status, he was appointed into the national team coaching crew at different times.
He assisted late Onigbinde at the 2002 world cup. So make una dey leave poor renumeration narratives
Re: Henry Nwosu Is Dead by Yemon(m): 2:14pm On Mar 14

I knew him personally as at 1984 when he was playing for either ACB (Africa continental bank) or NNB (New Nigerian Bank) in Benin city
Also got to meet him many times during a grassroot competition in Lagos yearly in the 90s and early 2000s, where he was a coach

Life expectancy in this country is low. Look at Iran, their life expectancy is pegged at 80+, even going through all the age of their Ayatollah, most were 90 yrs. May God help us.
