It isn't just a leadership issue, it's also a gender issue. I'm not one to pander to narrative but the facts objectively shows the women aren't being taken seriously.

The easiest way you know it has a gender slant is that this will never have happened to the men. Never.
CAF actually doesn't care and the pattern is clear. Always treating the women's game like they're doing them a favour.

This is becoming a dangerous pattern.

It makes you wonder: do women’s football development officials at CAF actually influence these decisions, or are they just expected to work around them?

Like, it’s difficult to fathom anyone who has the best interests of the women’s game can influence such a pattern.

Because if women’s football is truly a priority, what we’re seeing around WAFCON shouldn’t be normal.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 11:33am On Mar 07
2020 – WAFCON cancelled entirely.
2024 – WAFCON postponed to 2025.
2026 – WAFCON postponed again, from March to July.

Anyway this is an opportunity for players like Chioma Okafor, Uchenna Kanu, Nicole Payne and co to work their way back into the team and prove to the Coaches that they deserve to be there ahead of some names..!

Both better than Barbra Banda??
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 8:06pm On Mar 11
Nigeria 🇳🇬 SuperFalcons fastest Fullback, was on the rise before the ACl injury.. Hopefully she gets good game time this season and also play her way back to the SuperFalcons.

Since she can play on both side she can deputize both Alozie and Plumptre. But again she has all it takes to start for the SuperFalcons..

Going to the WAFCON my pick for the defense should be…
1• Osinachi Ohale
2 Blessing Demehin
3• Michelle Alozie
4• Ashleigh Plumptre
5• Shukurat Oladipo
6• Chidinma Okeke
7• Nicole Payne

Considering each team are to go with 25-26 players, I will add between Sikiratu Isah and Rofiat Imuran..

Not the worst start but we have to do better defensively.

Nice to see India in Women's football. Manisha Kalyan seems like their biggest star.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 2:28pm On Mar 16
So Toni Payne and Chiamaka Nnadozie are the only ones in WSL that is becoming hot cake each year? Where's Rofiat though? Is that the end of LCL or im in the dark or what? Yes the Mex and Us league dey but we should be having talents breaking through the WSL now.

Nope. This was in Dijon. Coupe De france Quarter finals. Echegini just took PSG to the Semis.

The dates for this year’s U-17 World Cup, to be hosted by Morocco, are now confirmed ✅

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 9:06pm On Mar 19
Also….

Also….
Fifa for just start with cadet teams. The reason being that it will increase the pool of coaches that will go on to swarm the senior stage one day.

For senior level, na who sabi pass suppose dey regardless of gender. Waldrum had a female assistant and i think they booted her.

For me, i sha want the ex-ints that are qualified to handle this team. We have 5 qualified ones. Th other issue is i expect them to also get jobs in other african countries as well. But.....

Las las, i no like like this idea for senior team level. The inference is counterproductive.

One thing you must know is that those top Ex-internationals who are coaches won’t come over to stay in Nigeria 🇳🇬 just because of the Head Coaching job..

One reason Florence Omagbemi wasn’t reappointed before Thomas Dennerby took the job back then.

I don't understand why Deborah Abiodun is not a regular starter yet. It's not like their midfield is even good.

I think the Coach is having selection problems as he seems to prefer the 🇲🇽 lady Bernal ( who is Originally a Center Back) as a starter in midfield ahead of Abiodun, let’s just wait and see how it plays out as Abiodun is also coming back from a Knock one of the reason she missed the last International Window.

➖This might cause some problems for him. Abiodun is a Starter in that Defensive Midfield Position and Bernal is a CB he’s trying to please by starting her ahead of Abiodun as DM which is her alternate position...

➖USWNT 🇺🇸 Defensive Midfielder Andi Sullivan just returned from ACL injury and child birth.

➖Some Coaches sha, taking Silly risks, if she can’t bench the two Starting CB’s after returning from an injury why not bench her?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 2:06am On Mar 21
Any of you watching Orlando Prides 🆚 Denver Summit game?

I love how Ayo Oke matched Banda pace to pace in the last minute of the first half but was given a Yellow card as Banda went down which I’m pretty sure is not a Yellow..

Mistake from the referee.

Deborah should start over anyone not named Lacy Santos. Gonzalez is playing with fire because that Asian lady is not here to play. She wants the domination she has been paying for.

Is there a way you can do a thread and include all the female coaches home and abroad, with heavy CV to take over Nigeria female teams in the future? I've lost count. They're too much. It will be FrontPage worthy.
