First and foremost I don't understand why instructions are not obeyed do not share property of Jehovah witness on social media even as members, you do not hv the legal or patent right we don't hv the right they have publicity and legal department who knows how best to despense any message on social media now questions are rising up how well would you give answer than to cause issues there are a hundred and ten contents to post leave Jehovah's witnesses post alone even if the poster is a witness or not if I HV contact of your congregation would hv reported you Obedience is better than sacrifice Was this for the general public consumption Apologies to everyone , it was for members only, you can use your own blood at worst case scenario Wat that implies start today to store your blood in a blood bank for your own use at critical emergency Personal choice |

This is what it has always been. JWs don't prohibit anyone from transfusing their blood. It's a personal choice and decision. This is just a reiteration. |

📖 Where does “abstain from blood” come from? The clearest place is: 📖 Acts 15:28–29 (NIV) “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality…” This instruction was given by the early church leaders, including Peter the Apostle and James the Just. What did “blood” mean in their time? To understand this, we must go back to earlier Scripture: Leviticus 17:10–11 (NIV) “I will set my face against any Israelite… who eats blood. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement…” 📖 Genesis 9:4 (NIV) “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.” 🌍 Historical Context (Very Important) In Bible times: • People drank or ate blood as part of pagan rituals • Animals were sometimes killed without draining blood (strangled meat) • Blood was seen as sacred because it represented life So the command to “abstain from blood” meant: Do not consume blood as food or in ritual practices So… is it talking about blood transfusion? No—not directly. Why? • Blood transfusion as a medical practice did not exist in Bible times • The discussion in Acts 15 is about: • Food • Idolatry • Cultural practices between Jews and Gentiles It’s not addressing medical procedures. Why the instruction was given The early church was trying to solve a major issue: • Jewish believers had strict laws about blood • Gentile believers did not So this instruction helped: • Maintain unity • Avoid offending Jewish Christians • Keep believers away from pagan practices How do Christians understand it today? There are different views: 1. Most Christians believe: • The command refers to eating blood, not medical use • A blood transfusion is about saving life, not consuming blood This aligns with the principle that: 📖 Mark 2:27 (NIV) “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Meaning: God’s laws are not meant to destroy life, but to preserve it. 2. Some groups (like Jehovah’s Witnesses) believe: • Any use of blood, including transfusion, should be avoided They take a stricter interpretation. A deeper principle to hold The Bible consistently teaches: • Blood represents life • Life is sacred • God values the preservation of life So the question becomes: 👉 Is the action dishonoring life—or preserving it? 💡 Final clarity • “Abstain from blood” in Scripture = do not eat or misuse blood in a ritual sense • It was not originally about medical transfusions • The modern application depends on how one interprets biblical principles MaxInDHouse: |

MaxInDHouse:Totally, but this is not the issue. A direct question, please: before now, was your organization accepting autologous blood transfusion? Yes or No. |

oroje1:Even "craze" men can have healthier liver, kidney, that are more suitable than intelligent/smart/phychological balanced folks. You choice of acceptance isn't my point and concern. Just wanted to clarify the GENERAL assumptions you might have inferred in your write-up that "ALL mentally ill peeps can't have compatible and healthy blood to donate". Screening donors doesn't work like that. #JustToClarify |

The blood is composed of: Red blood cells Whiteblood cells Plasma Water Protein Platelets Etc... Another issue to consider is this Has there been any drugs, tablets or Cyrup that's usually consumed that uses components of blood from either animals or humans to Manufacture them? If no, then The JW might have a point. If yes, then we're all complicit knowingly or unknowingly. The closest I and most of us know of is venom from Snakes, to create Antivenum medications. But Venom isn't blood. |

MaxInDHouse:I really do not see what you are arguing about here! The OP only posted what what announce to you guys! Prior to this announcement, JW was against transfusion of blood whether is your own blood or from someone's else. The announcement only make it okay for you guys to be able to store your blood and reuse it when needed which was not so before now. |

floss:No they didn’t die for nothing. Their reason for refusing blood transfusion was not based on what th governing body said. It was based on their understanding and conviction of what the bible said regarding abstaining from blood. Perhaps you may need to read that portion of the bible yourself and then draw your own conclusions as to its meaning - how can one abstain from blood. The practise of the governing council (elders and the apostles) meeting in Jerusalem where they decided to explain the need to abstain from blood Acts 15:28,29 is exactly what the governing body of JW do today to give clarifications to issues as the understanding becomes clearer no matter how long they had held the belief. This is similar to when the understanding came that a worshipper of God should not smoke - an action that early members of the JW practiced. |

chibuikejohn:Anyone who died because they refused blood transfusion didn’t loose because. 1. We will all die one day irrespective 2. They were obeying their understanding of what abstaining from blood meant and God will remember them in the resurrection 3. There are people who not religious at all but also refuse blood transfusion for their own reasons.. |
| Re: Jehovah's Witnesses Now Allow Transfusion Of One’s Own Blood by justloo(m): 9:18am On Mar 21 |
MaxInDHouse:God did and you may want find out why God forbade blood even though he created it and humans can eat it. You need to understand intent first. Then consider the different Bible portions that talks about abstinence from blood and why the elders and apostle in Jerusalem specifically mentioned to abstain from 1. Things strangled 2. Blood. Then explain how else one can from blood. |

God said: “ ‘I will set my face against any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who eats blood, and I will cut them off from the people. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. Leviticus 17:10-11 NIV This means each creature has its own blood cells but carnivorous animals can eat other animals and lick their blood such is dangerous for humans. Why? Because the body system of these creatures doesn't fight external sources of blood but when it comes to humans it's a totally different case. When you mix the blood of Peter with that of Paul with the aim of saving the life of one of them this may sound good at the moment but then the cells will start working differently they will never mix up as one just as it does in the body of someone who has never been transfused before. In fact the countless diseases mankind is treating today 80% comes from the mixing of blood cells either through SEX, ANIMALS STRANGLED AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION! So when the holy spirit instructed the Apostles of Christ and the Elders in Jerusalem to abstain from all these things they concluded saying it has to do with our health not some delusional religious ideas! Act 15:28-29😟 janeedema: |
