Before you married your wife, she was active on various social media platforms like nairaland, twitter ,telegram and the likes.
Now that you have married her ,you now want her to be non active on those social media platforms and concentrate on the home.
Oga,you are holding the lions tail and you are on your own

If the lady I’m going to marry has been active on nairaland (if I’m ever going to), that’s a red flag 🚩

Taking a wife from Nairaland is like buying a 'Follow-Come' I-pass-my-neighbor problem.

1. The Feminist Headquarters:
Half of them are 'Woke' feminists, and the other half are currently in training. If she knows you’re an active member, forget it. Any move you make, she’ll say, 'Is it that Red Pill thread you’re reading?' You can’t even exercise your 'Head of the House' rights without her accusing you of following 'Nairaland Mentors.'

2. You Are Official Content:
Omo, you are just one argument away from being 'Topic of the Day.' Small misunderstanding like this, you’ll just see a thread: 'My husband used his left hand to eat, should I leave him?' Next thing, you’re on the Front Page, and the 'Online In-laws' are already dissecting your life.

3. The 'Judas' Advice:
I trust my Nairaland people—they don't know what 'Peace' means. Their solution to everything is: 'Dump him!', 'He is a narcissist!', 'Bury the marriage!'. Even if you just forgot to buy bread, they will tell her your destiny is not safe with you.

Living with a Nairaland regular is like living with a secret reporter. Fear Women, but fear the ones on this forum even more! Proceed with your chest in your hands!

On the contrary... I think nairaland is a decent news/info/engagement place. Plus, people read more of written contents than media (pictures and videos) here than other SM platforms. Adverts are least distracting. Engagement is also fairly opened here compared to some others limited to friends/followers. NL also consume much less data compared to many other SM platforms. So, if your wife is a nlder, she may be bringing valuable talks to the discussion rather than celebrity showoffs, use-less contents, and irrelevant trends of products and stunts. She'll also spend less on data, and less time online.

True talk, but it’s a suicide mission because of the kind of 'poison' she has fed her mind. We all know Nairaland is the Headquarters of Anti-Marriage. The moment she brings a tiny family issue here, what do you think the 'online judges' will say?

'DIVORCE HIM!'

Even X (Twitter) is a playground compared to the bitterness on this forum. If she depends on the 'wisdom' she picks up here, the probability of that marriage lasting is lower than 1%. It's a massive red flag!

As for my wife, she use to stake games on sportybet before I met her and till this very moment, she still stake on sportybet and Bet9ja. I did not even attempt to change her for one day. She is also perfecting her draw game analysis.

Abi, I no dey understand oo

How are you expecting her to leave social media when she's already addicted to it.

I restricted my social media activities to only NL. I only read news on FB, Update my page and that's all. Other social media like Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, I don't know what they are doing there

I can't trade my personality/privacy for online trending or the money involved. Your privacy will be stripped from you which the money might not be able to resolve

Are you surprised? Marriage is not a complicated process. You can't change a human being except they themselves are willing to change on their own volition.

Your potential partner become a red flag just because she is a member of Nairaland. If you as a man is a member what kind of flag does that make you?

A man who constantly brings his family matters to Nairaland is a massive red flag. While it’s true that men are generally more reserved than women, some have turned this place into a diary.

I remember a particular case here: a man posted about his wife and the thread blew up with over 5,000 responses. He took the "advice" here to the extreme, and just 2–3 months later, the wife had to create her own account to narrate her ordeal and the neglect she was facing. She couldn't even finish her story—I’m 100% sure the husband forced her to deactivate the account.

Before I post anything private here, I already know the kind of "vawulence" and replies to expect before it even hits Front Page. I rarely post anyway because I’m not chasing clout or FP.

The reality is that many ladies think differently from men. A reserved man might still have the sense to discern good advice from the trash, but a lady who lacks discernment will swallow everything here hook, line, and sinker. That’s why you see many of them following the likes of Blessing CEO and co. Some don’t even understand the true meaning of feminism; they just follow the trend.

A man who always brings his problems here is a red flag, but a lady who is "overly active" and lacks filters is an even bigger red flag. Besides, we have more "Twitter-style" feminists and their supporters here than people who value traditional patriarchy, so the feminist narrative will always win the majority vote in this Romance section.
Re: Before You Married Her She Was Active On Social Media Like Nairaland, Twitter Et by Samantha125(f): 10:25am On Mar 25
Nairaland is nothing compared to that social media platform called TikTok.

I wasn't really interested in the platform until this one time last year when I was feeling homesick and my sister recommended it to me so that I can watch home related content to help ease the home sickness... When I'm home sick, sometimes I'd just cry by myself for no reason, that's how much of a big baby I can be.

So I started visiting the platform every once in a while and even though I'm neither active nor invested in it, it did became the closest thing to home and also helped ease the home sickness... I've now been adjusting to my new life and no longer have the constant urge to be visiting home every two months.

But tell me why TikTok algorithm has recently been recommending to me content by some of the most good looking men from my tribe? I'm talking about my specs...🤦🤦🤦... Like seriously, TikTok is not for the weak... I remember this one post by this other guy and the ladies on the comment section were literally fighting over him, including the married ones whose husbands are not on social media...😂😂😂... Others went to the extent of even posting their numbers...😂😂😂

So if you're a married person on TikTok, the best thing to do is limit your presence on the platform and be self disciplined... Avoid falling into any temptation...😂😂😂

It's better that she is active on a forum like Nairaland and platforms like Twitter (X) than on social media platforms like Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, FaceTime, etc, cos it shows she is smart.

Being active on Nairaland is far better cos she will be smart, versed and knowledgeable with global events and even local trends.

Nairaland is a great platform people can use to even discover their hidden talents or launch a new business if not for Seun's recent anti spam bot extreme moderation and hard rules which I think Seun needs to look into cos Nairaland helped a lot of members in the past launch their own Internet based businesses.

If I vet a woman well before marriage, even if she’s on TikTok, she won't be there shaking "ikebe" for the camera. Unless, of course, you went and married a "retired worker" from the streets! grin

The algorithm doesn't just start showing you "blue films" by mistake—it only brings what you are already looking for. Plenty of married women are on TikTok just to watch and learn, not to join the "Twerk Team." There are actually useful things to learn there, unlike following the "Divorce & Bitter Feminist Crew" here whose only job is to scatter homes.

If she’s on TikTok, I’ll simply have her username and be a "silent follower" to monitor the perimeter. But Nairaland? This place looks harmless but it is deadly.

Look at the logic: Telling your wife "Don’t twerk online" is a simple instruction. But telling her "Don’t post our private matter on Nairaland"? Omo, that one is a spiritual battle!

Imagine the "vawulence": You go to work in the morning, feeling like a Man of the House. You log in during lunch break to check Front Page, only to see: "My husband left home without dropping feeding money, is it time to divorce him?" >
The funny part? The woman didn't even tell you the money finished before you left! Before you can even call her, the "Nairaland Judges" have already given her 200 reasons why you are a "deadbeat" and why she needs to pack her bags. By the time you get home, your belongings might already be outside! grin
