See Faces Of The People That Protested When GEJ Increased Fuel Price by Meektunz(op): 8:40am On Mar 26
Indeed like they say, the internet never forgets. See the faces of the people that protested when Goodluck Jonathan increased fuel price. What a shame?

These same set of people are quiet now. I wonder the country we live in. Where are the millions of people who protested, the millions of people that occupied Nigeria.

It's not immediately clear if these people protested out of genuine concern for their country or they had an ulterior motive of helping APC win the presidential election.

Whichever is the case, the current opposition is not doing enough to make Nigerians detest this incompetent administration.

the conditions undèr 2012 protests and current hardship are not exactly the same.
Then there was money, but it was being paid out fraudulently and Jonathan felt it was unmanageable. Nigerians felt otherwise and Jonathan was too busy ignoring the northern imams & mallams who the voters listen to.
In 2023, the situation was that of having to use 97% of earning to service debt, governors seeing less allocation, no money to share even if buhari and tinubu were willing to play ball with the imams & malams.

Buhari was opposed on that ground because he claimed there is nothing like subsidy. Remember that?

No protest can make headway without Lagos and now the Lagos landlord is sitting President, how do you do it? If Peter Obi had built Anambra up the way Tinubu built Lagos, may be Anambra would have been the pillar of opposition. Instead Obi was saving Anambra money in his bank and using the rest to manufacture beer for drunkards.
Re: See Faces Of The People That Protested When GEJ Increased Fuel Price by erad(m): 9:29am On Mar 26
So you're waiting for people to protest for you.

They felt they had a reason to protest then and they did. If you feel you have a reason to protest now, then protest. Why will you be concerned about people not protesting now because they protested before? That does not even make any sense.

If you feel what's happening deserves a protest, then protest. It's pretty simple. They obviously don't feel there's a need to protest now, it's their personal choice and you can't blackmail or bully them into protesting.

I’m still surprised that in 2026, under Tinubu’s presidency, people are still pushing the long-debunked ‘he built Lagos’ propaganda. If he truly built Lagos, why is Nigeria being destroyed irreparably under his leadership?

No be curse say you can not come out and protest now at 1400 per liter?.
Re: See Faces Of The People That Protested When GEJ Increased Fuel Price by esnbrutality: 9:54am On Mar 26
All of them are charlatans. Tinubu paid them for these protests. Its was never organic , it's was staged. The real protest that smashed dem totally was endsars and they had to use ethnic propaganda to quell it.

After Tinubu leaves..how will they call for protests and people will align? They will surely cry after Tinubu and then they will be reminded.

Its that simple.

These people are the real enemies of Nigeria. The Judas amongst us. Now that it’s 1200 none of them come protest for Lagos state. Tribalism will be the end of Nigeria

Nigerian businesses are now copying models this govt and APC used in solving such problems. Instead of providing good services, Nigerian businessmen will target how to make regulators and legislators happy and keeping their stomachs full. When these set of people are happy, they won't care whether Nigerian businessmen provide good services and quality products or not. Check the amount of fake products and services everywhere, Nafdac, SON, NSE and others that are supposed to provide regulations pretend as if everything is alright. APC govt has learnt how to settle and make people who normally speak against them happy, once these people are happy and satisfied, other Nigerians can go and hug transformer💔

Money being generated from N50 bank transfer is higher than petroleum windfall. Include increased VAT and you will be in a state of confusion about what the extra money generated now is for.

They have one thing in common now..

The inability to speak against the same government they brought to power..

I see it a bit differently though...

Its not a must or compulsory that because I complained or protested in 2012 I must protest again in 2026. Is it a job or career?

That's not disputing the fact that a lot of those people whose pictures you posted were induced to protest.

But circumstances and especially momentum change. I don't blame anyone that genuinely protested against Jonathan.

Don't wait for same people that protested to come back again to protest before the needful is done. You can't keep blaming people for how things turned out when no one knows the future.

As someone has commented above one thing is certain and that's that the opposition(s) hasn't done enough in taking advantage of the situation because the situation and state of economy and everything generally is even more dire.

Back in 2012 tibunu saw the loopholes and took full advantage of the situation. He was at the head and center of the protest!

Yet they say the problem of Nigeria na leaders, if you observe closely the real cause of the problem is the people. Now let's pick a candidate from the masses here now to be president, what do you think will be the outcome? They would all make a leader with no vision for the future except sharing money for mobilization and imparting more suffering to the unfortunate members of the society.
Re: See Faces Of The People That Protested When GEJ Increased Fuel Price by IsraeliAIRFORCE: 1:00pm On Mar 26
The difference is that we have the Southwest president and the president they support. Evil is no longer bad.

Propaganda and tribalism are the real differences.

The earlier you accept the role of tribalism in Nigeria the better , everything in Nigeria is done according to tribal sentiments, the people above protested on tribal biases , they NEVER cared about Nigeria , it was all a power grab and thus includes NADECO

Tulumbu is working ruthlessly to see that Nigerians get what they deserve, let’s give him additional 16 years after then we’ll know if Nigerians will be able to afford a loaf of bread and they can buy fuel at 9k naira per litre

What works can ordinary Nigerians contribute in this regard, since we are the ones who are ultimately affected by government policies huh

He doesn’t know the cost of life, the price of the bean, of the fish, of the flour, of the rent, of the shoes and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The political illiterate is so stupid that he is proud and swells his chest saying that he hates politics.

The slowpoke doesn’t know that, from his political ignorance is born the prostitute, the abandoned child, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies.”

If the situation is even more dire, then why should reasonable Nigerians wait for opposition to galvanise them into doing something that they will benefit from huh

I saw a picture of some useless lawyers protesting then. I hope their situation is worse than charge and bail now. Maybe those lawyers that protested against GEJ are the ones doing kobokobo affidavit at business centres. Radarada.
