Luka fans deluding themselves thinking SGA is losing the MVP |
| Re: The NBA Begins by kushercain: 9:13am On Mar 27 |
Jokic is crazy sha. And the thing is baba has been so great that we are used to it. Wtf is 21 rebounds and 19 assists. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by kushercain: 9:14am On Mar 27 |
If Luka isn't the MVP then it should be Jokic. Forget being the best player on the best team. Remove SGA from OKC and arguably they are still number one seed. Abeggi Wemby over SGA too. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 12:49pm On Mar 30 |
Shai was having a good day until Wemby walked in. It is nice knowing this year's MVP is not definitive. I have no favorites so I'm good. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 1:27pm On Apr 01 |
greypencils:It's going to boil done to the what the media (those who vote) wants at this point. It has become a narrative award. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 9:15pm On Apr 01 |
Unless the Spurs catch up to OKC. No chance Wemby gets MVP greypencils: |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:00am On Apr 02 |
The most enjoyable podcast to listen to now is Game Over by Max Kellerman and Rich Paul. That podcast goes way beyond sports. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Hohenheim(m): 3:09am On Apr 03 |
Okc wan kill Lakers |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 9:33am On Apr 03 |
Hohenheim:Been laughing like a chicken all morning. The MVP race is all about impressing with narratives right? Last night's was very bad for Luka. One down, 3 to go. Who wins, Wemby, Shai, Jokic? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:15am On Apr 03 |
The Lakers season has gone from hopeful to disastrous. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:19am On Apr 03 |
greypencils:If it's squarely Luka vs Shai, Shai wasn't even great. 28 points from 25 shots is not that impressive. You only think he was better because they won by a large margin. Plus Luka even got injured and had to leave the game right in the middle of it. So your argument is quite flawed. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 10:27am On Apr 03*. Modified: 6:06pm On Apr 03 |
steady986:True! But I really am not arguing anything. I am not in support of any of the candidates. I am just here to have fun. 4 men are vying for the award, 1 down, 3 to go. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Hohenheim(m): 3:03pm On Apr 03 |
greypencils:It's 100% gonna be Shai. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:40pm On Apr 03 |
greypencils:I'd pick Wemby because of what he is doing on both ends of the court. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 6:02pm On Apr 03 |
Roland17:Unfortunately, I dont see Wemby winning MVP since he is certainly winning DPOY. The race is still between Jokic and Shai. Voter fatigue is real so Shai is walking with the MVP, my prediction. Wemby's real chance only comes if Spurs tops the west. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 6:08pm On Apr 03 |
greypencils:Then it will be Shai. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 8:15pm On Apr 03 |
As predicted, one down. Three to go.
|
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 6:16am On Apr 04 |
Geno Auriemma’s post game behavior after the loss to SC was disgraceful and a shame. He found a way to make the loss about himself with some of the wildest and untrue claims. He needs to figure out a way to beat D. Staley who has now bettered him in recent meetings. The era of poaching the best players and dominating Women’s college basketball is over. He needs to coach his team over the hump that is now Staley because she isn’t going anywhere. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 6:20am On Apr 04 |
The Giannis situation is getting messier and I have no sympathy for him. You can’t eat your cake and have it. The reality is that the Bucks will end up trading Giannis and that means he isn’t suiting up again this season, especially considering the Bucks are not making the playoffs. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 7:17am On Apr 05 |
I really want to see this Spurs v Nuggets in a 7 game series in the playoffs. |

Austin Reaves out. Luka out. Both to miss the start of the playoffs. One last hurrah, King.

steady986:Sweat wiped off the beard coloring, guy man beards don white like papa smurf ![]() Anyone in their 40s knows what it takes to keep up with a 25 year old on the court. Sometimes, you dont even chase them, just respect yourself and your ankles and let them blow past you. Lebron has been playing for 2 decades, so he has even more wear and tear than the average guy. At some point, the cost of remaining injury free will be too expensive. At this age, you can still be really strong, if you exercise and eat well. But you are not going to out-physical the most athletic 25 year olds in the world.I think he should make next season his last, go out on top of the game and put his energies into other things. One extra ring will not quiet the haters or settle fake goat debates. Its time enter the next phase, like Kobe was doing before his untimely departure |

steady986:Sweep! Whosover Lakers is meeting in the first round is bringing out the broom. |

steady986:The stage of life is bigger than basketball. Nobody cares about Big O or Dr J anymore. Kareem is still alive and outside LA, who send? Even for LA, who send lol. Even Kobe, give it another 5 years, the average fan will not know or care. Its time to leave the game to next generation. Every year he spends time in the league is a year he could be doing something else. I give Jordan that props. Even when he cam e back to the league with Wizards, he looked around and realized the ballers of that generation had a different mindset. They could have stacked that team some more, and they might have made ECF. Jordan realized, at that stage of life, ring discussion is for dem kids. Just move on |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:20pm On Apr 07 |
Lol. Even God doesn't rock with the Lakers ![]() SGA is MVP and I'm not too crazy about SGA but breaking a Wilt streak and winning the #1 seed despite Jalen Williams missing half the season. Nothing for Wemby unfortunately. His time will come. This 65 game rule thing I get the hue and cry about it but how can you say someone is All NBA or MVP when they miss more than 18-25 games from a possible 82. That will not apply in any other field of endeavor so why is basketball an exception Anyway I think it should be no lower than 60. I'm sorry if you play less than 60 games it doesn't matter how gaudy your stats you can't say you're MVP missing 25 games. Availability is also an ability |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:23pm On Apr 08 |
A40:even with 65 games, he cant win MVP. Let is stay at 65 abeg, missed game na missed game, wether for birth of child or whatever. What of the other missed games? Too many excuses |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:24pm On Apr 09 |
birdman:LeBron is still better than 80% of the league at his age. The only reason we think he's a hindrance to his team is because he earns 50m/y. Get this LeBron on 30m/y and it'd be a bargain |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 3:17am On Apr 11 |
A40:Wemby will be DPOY. No American will vote a Non-American to break Derek Rose's MVP record anyway. Same way Jokic or any European for that matter will not be allowed to surpass MJ's GOATHOOD. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 11:50pm On Apr 11 |
steady986:Look at it this way: the 20% that are better than him dont earn his type of pay. So at 50m per year, he is a hindrance to the team if they dont perform come playoffs. The guys that are bing hard on him, while some of it is haterade, do have a point. If you are going to make this much money, we need to see this much impact. Just like we dog Golden State for rewarding a journeyman like a franchise player. |

Can’t praise JB enough for the incredible work he has done for us in what was supposed to be a gap year. Man has shown he is a credible option 1. Credit to the Meerkat for also keeping JB as the number 1 option even after Tatum returned. We go into the post-season with a lot more confidence than any one of us had when the season started. #Greenrunsdeep |
