olola4:U are comparing 2023 to 2026.. Stop generalizing, no one is saying people shouldnt move. Look before u leap is the advice. I also know many looking helter skelter for sponsorship now. A lot has happened in terms of immigration policies after 2023. Threshold salary for skilled worker sponsorship which was around 25k pounds is now almost 40k pounds. Again, plan well well before u move guys.. |

Hmmm. Anybody wey wan japa can Japa. Yes, but plan accordingly. I japa too but everybody route and situation is different. I came via Global talent route and I have nothing to do with COS, including my dependent. But those that come via student visa and you are not loaded with cash. It is well. Hmmm. This reminds me of my uncle here in the UK. He told me he wants to come to UK. I explained to him pros and cons. But he was being sentimental. Now, he can't complete his school fees, he can't apply for PSW. He can't even raise money to apply for his PSW. I am trying to assist in my little way but he's still fighting me and reporting me to family that I set him up. I am not saying this to discourage anybody, but it's better to know the truth, and prepare accordingly. Go online and see for yourself and check the average salary in the UK, and now look at the minimum salary 41k for sponsorship for skilled worker visa (Excluding health and care and jobs listed in the TSL though) with is without dependant. Worst still more skilled workers visa is currently being cancelled than before in the history of UK. olola4: |

Good afternoon everyone, please I need your advise. I studied biochemistry during my undergraduate. And I applied for visa in January this year with the MBA business leadership and practice course even though i paid for priority UKVI delayed the visa until the last week of resumption before they called me for interview. I had to cancel the visa application and I didn't attend the interview. So now I want to start another application for September and I want to ask if it is advisable to still go for the MBA business leadership and practice course or I should just change to a more science related course like biomedical science maybe that will make the visa application more straightforward and non complicated. Your advise is highly appreciated. |

Sakuzi:BSC - Biochem MSC - MBA Work experience - Nigeria (senior leadership experience?) Free point - MBA is often not rated in the absence of relevant experience , as it is something associated with someone seeking an experienced managerial position. What kind of job opportunities do you intend to pursue in the UK? Check on LinkedIn or Indeed to see if there are job opportunities closely matching your profile, it there aren't then you will do well to reflect on your choice of course or country. |

Sakuzi:I guess you didn’t consult some one with experienced with uk study visa cause all what you said above are not related at all and concerning the MBA program it’s for someone with experience My advise is to go for any science related courses to your undergraduate study , it makes your application well understandable and straightforward |

Sakuzi:You can apply to anywhere and get in, however, what i usually advice people is, do a course you will ace the subjects very easily so that you can spend some extra time building skills to land you a sponsored job. Navigating the job market is not easy so imagine adding a very stressful course because you feel it will give you an edge and you end up struggling or performing badly. That is enough mental decapitation. On the other hand, it could work in your favour if the course is sellable though difficult and can get you sponsored with an additional time invested to catch up, but again make sure money is not the distraction (hustling). All the best |

Before you think of UK japa now as a student and dependent please have like 40m smiling in your aza cos virtually all schools have increased their tuition deposit and also changed their tuition balance payment plan. Imagine university of greater Manchester that accepted £3k deposit from my bro in 2024 and no payment on enrollment is now requesting for an amount within £5k - £8k as deposit and balance payment before enrollment |

sheyhoon:You can use a dollar card to pay or make a transfer with a domiciliary account but If you don't have a dollar card or domiciliary account, use FLYWIRE, It is the most reliable payment method if you are in Nigeria, but if you have relatives abroad they can use there dollar card to pay for you. |

... I and a lot of people who moved in 2023 as students don't have any sponsorship jobs waiting for us, and we are all in a better visa, which is not even a health and care visa. You can check my 2023 post here to see when I was granted a visa.
