*Present-day Christianity* stands on doctrines refined and enforced through councils convened under imperial and ecclesiastical authority. At the First Council of Nicaea, called by Constantine the Great, Christ was declared fully divine, “of one substance” with the Father. The First Council of Constantinople, under Theodosius I, affirmed the divinity of the Holy Spirit, completing the Trinity. The Council of Ephesus, convened by Theodosius II, declared Mary as Theotokos, securing Christ’s unified identity. The Council of Chalcedon, under Marcian, defined Christ as fully God and fully man in two natures, without confusion. Through these and later councils, Christianity became a structured system: one God in Trinity, salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, authority rooted in apostolic tradition and scripture, and doctrine guarded not by private insight but by collective agreement. *The Christian Truth is something defined, defended, and declared by politicians.* |

triplechoice:You know what objective means right?! Cause I doubt you do. For instance, if I tell you, "I dreamed last night that I was flying", you cannot falsify it, demonstrate it or repeat it. Yet it is objectively true that I had that dream. Science confirms humans dream, but the specific content is not verifiable by your standard. By your rule , my claim would be ""not true " which is absurd. If you did you'd know the above is a clear subjective experience. You dreamt you were flying, did everybody else also experience your dream - that you were indeed flying? Clearly no. An example of an "objective" experience that reflects "objective reality" would be the claim "humans dream" or "humans eat", the kind of food they like to eat or whatever kind of dreams they have are subjective experiences. And the properties of objective truth are as stated - no less. Again pls check the meaning of objective as it differentiates from subjective. Absolutely no claim can be "objectively true" without those properties. |

sonmvayina:This is the typical retreat into “imetaphor” once the archaic nature of the texts is exposed. Suddenly everything becomes symbolic. I’m sure metaphorical stories come with structured genealogies, the commands are just metaphor, even with actual penalties attached to them. The time indicators, actual geographical references, named rulers, census details, lengths of their reigns? Even the Sabbath sef is metaphor, even though it is practiced literally, some how its sourced from a "metaphorical" event. The people in the text who were described as taking and acting on it literally - all metaphor. It’s not like there are actual narrative markers that are literally grounding events in actual time and place. It’s not like we can distinguish the poetic sections from legal codes and historical narrative based on the genre already present in the text. Spin another yarn, this one is weak. |

yinkeys:You are wrong about this. That jotter thingy is only meant to help deepen your religious delusions, not help you comprehend the books of the Law and the Prophets which are contained in your Bible as they in fact present themselves. 😒😒 If you are having a hard time reading the books that are contained in the collection that is the Bible. It means you generally have bad reading and comprehension habits. Work on that by reading easier books in the language you best understand. Afterwards, pick up a translation of the Bible that you are able to work best with. 😒😒 |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Kobojunkie: 7:19pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:Yes! There is more evidence that he did exist, than that your great grandfathers did. Why do I say that? Because there is more than enough independent evidence(non-familial evidence) that the man existed about 2000 years ago. 😒 |

Kobojunkie:You make me laugh 😂 Bring proof or evidence Don't believe everything inside bible ooo |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Kobojunkie: 7:22pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:Actually, he is wrong! What he instead gave were arguments given by athiests(religion of denial of existence of a God). That is not evidence. 😒😒😒 |

Kobojunkie:Man knows thyself best ![]() Colourful texts & books with pictures generally spikes my interest by multiple folds That’s why I advice undergraduates to get good American textbooks to Nigerian or Indian types if they can. How would you compare a Nigerian university physics textbook to that of an American ? There in lies the answer I am a slow reader though, took me 2 years to read Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene. Although I wasn’t consistent Thé Jotter is just for proper reading structure Only makes it more interesting for me Enthusiasm is key in reading lengthy materials for me Personal development |

Kobojunkie:no wonder white men keep controlling us up till now |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Kobojunkie: 7:24pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:There are other works from first century records that mention the existence of such a man/the movement that was a result of his teachings, in the region that was Judea under Roman rule during the first century. 😒 |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Nobody: 7:26pm On Apr 11 |
Kobojunkie:nothing like Christianity during first century They're all traditionalist Even your forefather are traditional in religion Until white men colonize Africa they bring Christianity to Africa |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Kobojunkie: 7:28pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:I prefer being controlled by Whiteman than Islam. Islam has colonized much of Africa for over 1400 years now, and Africa still looks like a 7th century slum. I would prefer we welcome the white man's colonism back. You look at the infrastructure that existed in much of Nigeria when the white man left in 1960, and you realize that Nigeria lost out on better nation when they left. 😒😒 Anyways, back to the topic. Religious athiests tend to reason same as people of other religions though. They hold fast to their falseclaims even against evidence. 😒😒 |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by Kobojunkie: 7:32pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:I made absolutely no mention of Christianity existing in the first century. Rather, what I said was the movement that resulted from the teachings of the man named Jesus is documented in independent works that date as far back as the 1st century. 😒 2. My forefathers were traditionals who produced and invented nothing of substance or praise until after the white man arrived on the shores of Africa. Yes, white man brought Christianity, but...😒 ... again, I said nothing of Christianity but rather of the man named jesus Christ... He didn't invent Christianity nor did he bring Christianity to Africa. Can we please stick to the topic.... stop f-cking derailing the thread of conversation. |

Alapereketu:Do you believe in reasonableness? Imagine a mythical character in a book who said: "You will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses of me in Jerusalem, in all Ju·deʹa and Sa·marʹi·a, and to the most distant part of the earth.” Act 1:8 This year makes 1993 years he uttered the above statement, today in a world where people believe in vengeance with the use of weapons a group emerged preaching and teaching from house to house and door to door just as this mythical character taught in the fairytale book. Matthew 10:11-13 This group have taught people who become their members in all the nations never to return evil for evil. Matthew 5:43-48 This group has used what this mythical character said to erase racism in the minds their members so that they are now known globally as if a strong bond is binding them together like one family. John 13:34-35 No member of this group is into politics or military service in all the earth. John 17:14; Matthew 27:52 In fact most people say the world will become a better place if only members of this group fill the planet. Please what do you say about such a character? Will you conclude he never existed or you were misinformed?🙂 |

yinkeys:1. Slow reading is a result of bad reading habits. My suggestion is that you pick up and read lots of children's books.( Aim for about 100 of them.) Read everyday and as many pages as you can, making sure you focus intently on understanding every bit of text. Over time, you are sure to build better reading habits to help you better read even more voluminous and complex texts.😒 I have had to retrain my brain in the same way over the years. I had set a goal to read over 100 grade-4-through-grade-12 books. That helped me build better reading habits and overtime, I became better able to read more and more texts within shorter periods. You could do this to help yourself first. 😒 2. There are no magical books in this. 😒 |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by MaxInDHouse(m): 8:04pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:Where is your evidence? Alapereketu:What the colonizers brought is politics not Christianity if you truly want to see the truth as it really is! |
| Re: Is Christianity The True Religion? Debate by MaxInDHouse(m): 8:19pm On Apr 11 |
Alapereketu:Why do intelligent people believe what is written in the Bible? In ancient times all nations have their forms of worship and names of deities their ancestors worshiped back then but do you know of any deity (god) who made a promise regarding our modern times which is fulfilling today?😟 |
