obonujoker:Stop condemning our culture, it's our identity, these religions are a mixture of foreign culture and practices. Our culture is our essence, if someone does something bad, don't use it to malign our local culture, there are bad people everywhere that misuses things. Religion is a belief you choose, our culture is what we are. A people with no culture are slaves. |

erniok:The Romans created the Christian ideology, and all the characters therein... that's what he means. |

Layi4real:Isese owns the land, it is their heritage. Arabs own Islam, that's why you go there for Hajj, and the religious book is in Arabic. |

dederocs:isese own nothing. Yoruba own the land not isese. not all Yoruba worship gods. Nd not all Arab are Muslims. U can be Yoruba Nd not traditional worshippers same as u can be Arabs Nd not Muslim. Nobody own the land only the creator of heaven and Earth does |

obonujoker:Funny enough even those that gave you your believe have gone short the glory of their believe. God didn't create any religion so how do you know the best religion? |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 4:15pm On Apr 12 |
erniok:Constantinople a Roman ruler created this organised Christian religion, after the death of Jesus. This is known history, even smart secondary school history students know this. Jesus did not create religion, he didn't preach religion, he preached truth and spirituality, fruits of the spirit. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 4:16pm On Apr 12 |
Layi4real:It is the traditional spirituality of the land...you choose Arabic symbols, culture and saviour as your own, respect those that own the land. Isese owns the land. Arabic is the culture of Arabs, hijab, all Arab culture. |

dederocs:He's talking about creation of God and you're talking about state acceptability of the Christian faith. Two entirely different things. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 4:29pm On Apr 12 |
erniok:That term means different things to different people. Look at the differences in the religion, does it seem to be under one command or control? That term is relative as things stand today, for example even the difference between Christianity and Islam, will tell you that the term is relative. Not state acceptability, state creation. It was a strategy to unite the Christ followers with the Roman population that was into polytheism then. They added their holidays, Christmas and Easter as part of the Christian culture, for general acceptance. When Christ died they were his followers who were doing things seen as sorcery to the Roman authorities, hence they decided to create a generally acceptable Christian religion, watered down. |

Dafresh:Many people will fall by the way Side. Yes God didn't create religion. He only created a way to come to Him and abide in Him, and that way is through the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by erniok(m): 4:34pm On Apr 12 |
dederocs:It shouldn't be relative in any way as creation and accepatbility are 2 different things. Anyone alluding Romans created Christianity is either ignorant or simply mischievous. Let's state what is provable and I'd have preferred he defends his claim. What do you mean by the bolded. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by obonujoker(op): 4:35pm On Apr 12 |
dederocs:I'm not condemning culture Sir. I am on my saying as a Christian, you can't be involved in cultures or traditions that don't glorify God, or pays homage to dieties or gods. There are good cultures that can be adopted or practiced. |

dederocs:u are not well learned. Isese do not own Yorubaland. The Yoruba own Yorubaland. Tell me who are the isese sef what is there religion? they are bunch of idol worshippers. The only isese religion is Islam bcus that is the religion the first man worship i.e believing in oneness of God the creator of heaven and earth without associating partner with God. it's after that some people are attaching objects and humans to God |

erniok:Constantinople a Roman ruler created it, as an organised religion. Added their own traditional holidays known as Easter and Christmas...it was a celebration to their Sun God. Before then, no word like Christianity. |

Kushites:Any belief system that doesn't have Jesus Christ as its head, is heading for destruction and damnation. There's no way to access God except through Jesus by His finished works on the cross of Calvary. Angels follow the directive of God through our master and saviour Jesus Christ. Anyother thing claiming to help God without Jesus Christ, such thing is only out to steal, kill and destroy humanity |

GodHimself:Christian days were put on these days to stop the early Christians from participating in those pagan traditions... So instead of worshipping Apollo or Ishtar, worship Jesus on those days. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 4:41pm On Apr 12 |
Layi4real:All religions worship men (prophets), this is idolising to non adherents of the religion. Killing for your prophet etc, the stone, the symbols, all these are idolising, Abi English dey hard una. Idolising is a word, it means reverencing something or worshipping it. Polytheism was the spiritual culture of the Akkadans, Egyptians, Mayans, Greeks Romans, great civilisations that shaped our word. Monotheism started with Judaism, quite recent in world history. You only believe what you are born into. |

zinaunreal:Traditional religion that doesn't have Jesus as the way to God is heading to damnation even to them that practice such. Jesus is the only way to God. |

obonujoker:I am not being judgemental as I am a sinner by your religious standards. Answer this question, what makes you think you are not a sinner? And if you say you are a sinner, what makes you different from those you called a sinner or pagan? |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by obonujoker(op): 4:45pm On Apr 12 |
Demigod22:I never said I'm not a sinner Sir. Just that I know my son, I'm convicted of sin, and therefore I plead for God's mercy everyday I wake up and come back. The difference between I and a pagan traditional worshipper is that I worship the true God by believing and accepting His only begotten Son as my Master, Lord and Saviour. A pagan traditional worshipper honours fake gods and goddesses by participating in their rites. Which is wrong because it's all deception. |

dederocs:na U English dey hard. does prophet to u means God or messenger in Ur dictionary mean someone worthy of worshipping. Both are servants of the creator. So do Adam worship any stone or idols? No bcus he worship the God who created him same as every prophet after him. They only serve as light that guide us to the one true God |

| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 4:52pm On Apr 12 |
Layi4real:But you people worship, fight and kill for your prophet, your religion, this is idolising, people have been killed because of religious book in the north, this is idolising of the book, in Mecca, lots of Africans die in stampede trying to touch the stone...what do you call that? Besides what is your culture? Na only slaves no get culture...Arabs will laugh at you when you call their culture yours. Adam had no religion, he didn't worship prophet like you are doing today. Loyalty to your religion above humanity is idolising. God is in humanity. When Deborah was killed what was your reaction? |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by Layi4real(m): 5:02pm On Apr 12 |
dederocs:you people don't fight nah... or u don't commit lot of atrocities in the world like what you Nd Ur Jew brothers committing in Iran nw. in the time of Moses is war not fought. Jesus did not fought war because he is just a religious leader unlike Muhammad Nd Moses who are both religion leaders Nd political leaders. and in which dictionary of urs talk say when someone kill for there prophet they are worshipping idols. Religion is perfect but human aren't |

dederocs:Earliest Use of "Christianity" (Christianismos): The term Christianismos (Christianity) was used by Ignatius of Antioch around 110 AD in his letters, over 200 years before Constantine. The Term "Christian" (Christianoi): Followers of Jesus were called Christians in Antioch around 42-44 AD, as recorded in the Book of Acts (11:26), and by Roman historians such as Tacitus when describing Nero's persecution in 64 AD. The above is from AI even the reference in acts 11. You are too bold in spewing falsehood or should I say ignorance. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 5:12pm On Apr 12 |
Layi4real:Religion is divisive and a problem to Nigeria. Religion is not perfect, it was created by men for their selfish narcissistic and political ideals. |
| Re: You Can't Be A Christian And Still Join In Pagan Traditions by dederocs(m): 5:15pm On Apr 12 |
erniok:Christianimos and Christianity are two different words. Christianity is the religion created by Constantinople, it is two different words. You lack comprehension. Someone can call himself a Christ follower, that doesn't mean he has created a religion, a religion is generally acceptable to the state, and the people. Those early christ followers are completely different from you Christians of today, lol. It's more about results, prosperity now, not about the faith. There was no organised Christian following during the Apostles times, they only fellowship together, it was pure spirituality then not religiosity like now. Of course we all know about the Antioch event and Christ followers, but it wasn't a religion then. |
