When some of these managers get opportunity to market themselves for enviable roles, them go begin do rubbish.

That 1st half performance was a total embarrassment.

The worrisome aspect is that it seems to have become a norm.

After 24 days, there is no combination of players that Carrick could have come up with for this match that warrants that kind of rubbish display we just watched.

Not just appoint competent manager with X factor alone, they need to invest massively in the squad. If we are losing Case and Ugarte in the midfield then we should be buying 3 midfielders. 2 starters and one decent enough to come from the bench.

We also desperately need to move on from Shaw as our left back and we might just need to buy another striker to support/relieve Sesko.

I don't know where they are going to see the money but we must invest in this squad.

INEOS decided not to appoint OLE because they weren't ready to commit to him long term, regardless of CL qualifications.

Now it appears they made that decision because they probably knew Carrick wouldnt be entirely convincing.

It's unfortunate how some of these managers fail to grasp golden opportunities with both hands...

That is what reasonable people have been saying since.

End the season with a Champions League qualification and reassess. No matter what the final decision is Carrick would be appreciated for saving the season but that does not automatically mean giving him the permanent job.

Luis Enrique and Nagelsmann should be the top targets.
We also need to spend well and spend wisely in the summer transfer window.

If we stumble over the Champions League qualification line we shouldn’t give Carrick the job.

We have been strengthening and we would continue to strengthen but I'd rather not talk about TW after 15th placed Leeds dominated us at OT despite the club spending close to 250m in the last 6 months.

The manager CAN NEVER be exonerated with the performance on display tonight - it's just NOT possible!

Any man utd manager that needs a TW overhaul to perform well and beat 15th placed Leeds at OT isnt ready for the job!

Alonso is a very solid option but after our stint with Amorim 3-4-3, I dont want to have anything to do with any manager that play 3-4-3 or any of its variants.

I think he is flexible - e be like say na 4-2-3-1 he use at Madrid.

It is not fair on Carrick to call him a useless piece of shit. He has done well to stabilize the team, amass points that put us in a good place to qualify for the UCL, I just personally feel the job might be too much for him tactically and management wise for now.

Apart from our managers obvious incompetence, the very constant that we complain about every match day for like 5 years has been players.

While I agree we need to get a better manager than Carrick, we also need to invest wisely into this squad else we'll be setting up the new manager for failure also.

Carrick has "tried/trying" his best.

I agree. It seems we are already stumbling, we can barely create chances at the moment which wasn't so when Carrick started. I no mind if we stumble over the line tbh.

The major reason I don't want Carrick to be made permanent is because of my experience with Ole even though I personally believe Ole is tactically better than Carrick.

If we get UCL, the project might become enticing to managers like Enrique.
