Jamiuokolaa:INEOS or Glazers? ETH was the manager when INEOS came onboard. |

nitrogen:If Carrick loses the next match against Chelsea, top 3 will start shaking and your countenance will change again. Forget all these ones you are saying. We need serious investment in the first team. Imagine playing every 3 days with this squad. Next season will be a disaster irrespective of who the coach is if we don’t strengthen the squad significantly. |

Leyqute:So what happens before next season? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 1:10am On Apr 14 |
Jamiuokolaa:Was it the manager running on the pitch? The truth is that if we started this game with Magwaya and Licha, the outcome would likely be different. Let us build a squad that is strong enough first. That’s the harder part of the job. If Bruno gets injured today, we definitely won’t make top 5. Selah |

Jamiuokolaa:Carrick has to make do with what he has. Just get us across the line. 2 wins and 2 draws from the remaining 6 games is enough. The funny thing is that we will easily amass those points if we just show up like we want to win. We are too passive. |

Leyqute:There is a reason why managers are obliged to grant post match interviews - they are the ones responsible and accountable for results and performances on the pitch. Carrick has also acknowledged the fact that the 1st half performance was underwhelming. It is also the job of the manager to "whip" his players back in line when performances are not at the required levels. Leyqute:The problem is that when yall start talking about TW after such a dreadful performance and result at OT vs Lowly Leeds, it makes mockery of the "strengthen the squad" argument. When we then proceed to clear things up, y'all come up with the "they don't want us to buy players" narrative. Look at the team that outplayed, outclassed, outwitted and outmanoeuvred Manchester UTD at OT today FFS!! Which "rebuild" did 15th placed Leeds undergo to dominate us the way they did a few hours ago? We played like there was nothing at stake, especially in that 1st half. Leeds literally wanted it more. It has been a while I saw such an uninspiring performance from the team...especially at OT. I am not sure the absence of Magwaya could be responsible for our failure to utilise Sesko's aerial prowess, neither could it be the reason why our passing was slow and laboured while we struggled to create anything meaningful. When I see tepid displays like this from VIRTUALLY ALL members of the group, the manager DEFINITELY has to answer.

larride:Me sef no mind o. Even if we roll or crawl across sef. Na to get there matter pass. Carrick has done very well to rescue the season and that cannot be taken from him. Even this Leeds game would have ended differently had we been 2 goals down and 1 man down under either ETH or Amorim. Leeds might have run up the score against us. Having said all that, we need to think longterm and use logic rather than emotion when appointing the next manager. If a top manager is available I think we need to approach such a manager for the position. What I won’t like though is not giving Carrick the job and then appointing an experimental tech bros. |

Leyqute:But this has always been the stance of a considerable number of people here. The resources at Carrick's disposal should definitely be doing better than what we saw today. It was an embarassing performance to say the least. Like you have noticed, how can Man UTD be "passive" vs 15th placed Leeds at OT? I am seeing mentality issues in the team and chief - that one is on the manager to fix! Carrick is being presented with a fantastic opportunity to sell himself and get the job on a permanent basis...especially with the percieved unavailability of big names. Unfortunately, it appears the man isn't interested |

You can blame Carrick for the tepid performance of the team in the first half of the game but are you blaming him for the atrocious referee decisions and the VAR double standards? Because a bunch of numpties have it in for Carrick, does it mean we are ro excuse these glaring double standard refereeing? Against Bournmouth there were two glaring penalties that were denied Manchester United. In todays game for the first Leeds goal Yoro is blatantly fouled by Calvert Lewin before the ball is put into the net by Okafor. For the second goal, Bruno is blatantly fouled in the Leeds half and from the transition Okafor scores again for Leeds. Then to top it off,a coming together of Martinez and Calvert Lewin is tagged dangerous play and a red card is issued and United are down to 10 men. However it is convenient to the agenda not to see all these blatant double standard refreeing decisions and blame Michael Carrick as not being good enough. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 3:44am On Apr 14 |
Jamiuokolaa:The TW is closed. That’s what I meant. Carrick has to make do with what he has. In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve played in this same passive manner for the last few games. But sine we lost this one, the noise is louder. The starting XI might look “better than Leeds” on paper but the truth is that games are not won on paper. If your team doesn’t put in the effort, they will lose. This team is known for not putting in the effort UNDER SEVERAL MANAGERS. We’ve seen this movie before. Ole. ETH. Amorim, and now Carrick. What makes you think another change of manager will change things? |

The referee allowed the game flow yesterday with so many hard tackles.. And den gave stupid yellow cards for dives. I'm very sure the only time he gave that red card was because var recommend it and he just went to check it.. But that's never a pen |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 4:00am On Apr 14 |
Jamiu. Maguire is not the kind of defender we should have in our starting xi. But he’d still do a better job than Yoro today. We have to prioritize squad building to get back to the top. |

Leyqute:If you like, sign Madrid’s first eleven, if the manager is clueless, nothing good will come out of it. We have new players upfront, but the lethargy upfront remains, is it still the fault of Rashford and Garnacho? We moved the ball slowly in the first half after 21 days of training and no game, but Leeds that played FA cup last week outplayed us in the first half. Is that the fault of Bruno and Casemiro? Did we not play better in the second half, despite the red card? Same players o! With Case leaving, we need 2 players in the middle and maybe 1-2 defenders to support the current ones. Not another overhaul. Upfront is sorted, except maybe a right winger. So, 3-5 players with focus on key areas of weakness will do. Carrick is just a temp with relatively few ideas. He’s done well, but I would not want to have him as a permanent manager. |

afrodoc:Tech bros ![]() That's why I said no more manager experiments. Speaking of tech bros, what do you think of Maresca? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 6:42am On Apr 14 |
eph12:If I understand Jamiuokola position well, I doubt he's against strengthening the squad, his point is that Carrick as the manager is the one to fix the passiveness with which we play, build up the team mentality and set the right tone for the players. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 6:43am On Apr 14 |
nitrogen:Up front is not settled bros, I doubt it that Sesko can lead the line at this club. He might just be an impact sub. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Jamiuokolaa: 6:48am On Apr 14 |
eph12:One of the issues is that standards have significantly dropped at OT such that the Barest minimum is now seen as a luxury Ferguson beat Wolfsburg away 3-1 and Arsenal 2-0 with these squads but in big 2026, 700m has to be spent before Man utd can comfortably beat Leeds at OT I really miss those days of non - existent excuses

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 6:54am On Apr 14 |
nitrogen:I don’t mind that list at all. 3-5 additions worthy of starting games every week is okay. Wasn’t saying we needed an overhaul. We just need to continue building on previous TWs by weeding out outdated or ineffective players and replacing them with capable legs. Helps us run am with the board. |

Jamiuokolaa:Did SAF field this lineup every gameweek? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 6:57am On Apr 14 |
larride:We can make do with Mbeumo up top. Sesko can be the number two until he decides to step up. Mount needs to be replaced with someone who can challenge both wingers. Same with Zirkzee. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 6:57am On Apr 14 |
larride:I'm saying it will be very difficult for any manager to fix this with the current set of players especially in defense and attack. How many more managers do we need to have before we realize what the real problem is here? A Flick with this midfield and defense will have serious problems trying to implement his style. Even Naggelsman will struggle a lot with bad results. Their only saving grace will be fixing the real problem on time. |
