Akpakomiza2:Are you having a laugh? He just signed the 2026 budget into law and 2025 budget implementation was extended to June 2026. Contractors from 2025 are still unpaid. He can extend capital expenditure to 90%, but it's all on paper. Where is the money? |

AMINDA:CHATGPT, Is it true that obasanjo wrote this about Tinubu in his book? The short answer is no. There is no record of Olusegun Obasanjo writing those specific quotes about Bola Tinubu in his memoir, My Watch, or any other of his published books. The images you shared are part of a recurring series of fabricated internet memes designed to look like book excerpts. Why these quotes are considered fake: Content Mismatch: While Obasanjo has been a vocal critic of President Tinubu in recent years—often criticizing his economic policies and "lack of a plan"—he typically uses more formal, academic, or "elder statesman" language in his books. The wording in your image is unusually blunt and matches the style of social media "attack ads" rather than a 1,200-page autobiography. Incorrect Page Numbers: Fact-checkers who have reviewed the three volumes of My Watch (published in 2014) have confirmed that these statements do not appear on pages 102, 103, or anywhere else in the text. The "Mirror Image" Hoax: This specific format is often used for misinformation. In 2023, a nearly identical image circulated with the opposite message, claiming Obasanjo called Tinubu a "thoroughbred politician" with a "magic wand." Obasanjo's spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi, officially debunked those claims as "false and fake." What Obasanjo has actually said: Obasanjo’s real criticisms are usually focused on governance and institutional performance. For example, in recent speeches (2024–2026), he has described Nigeria as a "failing state" due to "bad leadership," but he has not been verified using the "insatiable greed" or "dangerous man" phrasing found in those viral "Notes" screenshots. Verdict: These quotes are digitally fabricated and attributed to the book to lend them a false sense of authority. I am reporting you straight away.STOP SPREADING LIES AND FAKE NEWS ON NAIRALAND |

AMINDA:Keep busying yourself with irelevances......i will stop short of telling you that obi's 23 was a fluke.....there is no cabal,no naira seizures, no deliberate electricity and fuel shortages.....obi has failed to build on his 23 achievements but rather balkanized his support base all by himself by unintelligently leaving LP for a party which is a cesspool for corrupt disgruntled elements......will adc give obi the ticket? I am personally pleading they should so the election be done with by noon. |

How things run in Nigeria When GEJ was there, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo announced that it will be the turn of the SE after GEJ not minding that GEJ is from the old Eastern region. When Buhari got there the Fulani still wanted to replace him with Atiku another Fulani in 2019 via an Atiku Obi ticket. The SW voted Buhari Osinbajo and Buhari won his second term to pave way for the Yoruba In 2023 after the 8 year long Buhari administration the Fulani moved to the PDP to contest the Presidency since a Fulani candidate would not fly in the APC but they lost as Atiku came second. It should be expected that some Yoruba will move to another party to contest even if Tinubu spends eight years. Whether they will win or not can't be known for now but they will certainly do the same thing that the Fulani did. They will do it even if there is zoning in the constitution by then because like no other group, they are the largest group in the south and the second largest in the North. In 2027, it is actually Kwankwaso Obi or Atiku Obi that can mobilize Northern Muslim votes easily and Fulani support and not Obi Kwankwaso. This is obvious if you have been paying attention. Obi Kwankwaso can only mobilize SE votes, Christian votes and etc. If Atiku and Kwankwaso both participate in the primaries it may give Obi an edge since Northern delegates will split especially if southern candidates step down for Obi. There is no reason to leave Kwankwaso Obi out of contention while discussing only Atiku Obi and Obi Kwankwanso as options though I don't think any Northern Muslim can for now become President without Yoruba support. Obi Kwankwaso can only win if Northern Muslims are ready to vote massively for a Christian candidate from the SE but it will be like working ninety percent for others and ten percent for yourself which makes it unlikely and this is aside the fact that Kwankwanso is senior to Obi in politics. When you look at everything the best way forward remains to divide the country |

AMINDA:Atiku performance has been poor. Atiku does not appeal to the youth and going by stats, they are the major voting bloc and will be the only ones to want to come out because whether you like it or not, Tinubu is planning on swimming through voter apathy in 2027. Many of these candidates need to retire, including Obi himself. A child born in 1999 is now 27 and would have gone through his adult life hearing about Tinubu and Atiku. A child born in 1993 when Atiku first contested is now telling his own child that Atiku is the future. How? Let me remind you again Now that Buhari is dead, he thinks the North will vote for him and all he needs is someone who will help him get Southern votes. In the three times he appeared on the general ballot for the presidency, Atiku Abubakar received - 2,637,848 votes (7.47%) in 2007 to finish third, - 11,262,978 votes (41.22%) in 2019 to finish second, and - 6,984,520 votes (29.07%) in 2023 to finish second once again. In the first time the candidate he contested with in 2019 (that gave Atiku his highest vote ever) went to test his popularity in 2023, tell me what was the numbers that candidate got. Obi gave him his best result in 2019 and Obidients today will not be behind Obi himself as Vice. Atiku is repeating the same mistake of the last election, it's not the time of the North. If he forces his way, the likes of Momodu and Okonkwo will happily help him spend his money on a fool's paradise. |

SuperEagles:What is the guarantee that he will hand over to any of them if they patiently wait for four more years?. This same tinubu that they have seen give northern quota in his lopsided appointments to his yeruba kits and kins in kogi and kwara states? No. the north is not stvpid. tinubu showed his hands too early and they have seen the kind of person he truly is. They knew he had traits of 'mild' tr1balism but they sure didn't expect this blatant level of ethnic jingoism after the same ticket deception in '23 and they would do everything humanly and even divinely possible to kick him out while they can, otherwise it will spell doom for the core north and no northerner/fulani dead or alive places his personal ambition above regional interests. That trait is more commonly found in the south. It is no coincidence that the same RMK that Obi couldn't convince to join him 3 years ago is now with him in same party alongside Atiku, Tambuwal, El-rufai and other northern big wigs. Same reason is why Bashir Ahmad who's supposedly an apc member is trusting an atiku in adc because he 'means well' for nigeria and also subtly wants the inec chairman who is supposed to be an asset for his party gone so he won't aid tinubu. The core north doesn't understand where tinubu is taking them to so they'd rather sacrifice their personal ambition, come together now and oust him. With atiku on seat, at least they trust him to continue furthering the northern agenda and all they need to do is wait a few years to take turns but with this man currently there, no one is certain if he intends to become nigeria's version of the cameroonian nonagenarian or whether there will still be a country to govern by 2031 and you know the north deeply dreads this possibility and is determined to take no chances. |

Basic123:If you need expo then go and consult him by paying consultation fee... You said we should vote back your tinubu who is currently on seat and holds all the power and you're asking me about someone who is not on seat... Tinubu failed and it's logical to try someone else... What you should be telling us is how Tinubu is correctly improving the nation and not asking me about Peter who is currently not in power... That's the only sensible thing... You're campaigning as if you're the opposition and Obi is the main party... Tinubu na President... Tell us how he improved the nation and why he deserves to be voted back... |

yomi531:Does the fact make you uncomfortable? Point out the part of the "middlebelt" that voted Tinubu in 2023 and you will still arrive at the same conclusion. Tinubu won only 4 Yoruba states out of 17 Southern states, losing woefully to Peter Obi. The North made him President. |

| Re: My Problem With Obi/kwankwaso Ticket by Omowale2023(m): 2:39pm On Apr 19 |
Lithiumite:Sir you are lying, there's no way ADC will give obi the ticket and APC won't get worried. Mass hysteria is real and it would work in favor of obi, and he just needs 25% from the core north and 50% from the NORTH CENTRAL and 75% of the votes from the whole south and he has won the elections. Atiku with 6 governors got 6.9 million votes, obi with Zero got 6.1 million votes, and you believe Atiku has better chances than Obi? Y'all are dreaming! |

Hedonisco:This is the only reason I also want Atiku/Obi ticket as against Obi/Kwankwaso ticket. You have seen the future already. Someone need to relay this to Obi because me I don talk tire he seems not to understand us |
| Re: My Problem With Obi/kwankwaso Ticket by Lithiumite: 2:55pm On Apr 19 |
Omowale2023:Are you aware that by 12 mid night Tuesday 21st april 2026,the ADC door will shut on obi and he can't leave for any other party to get ticket......if he looses out in ADC, thats the end of his ambition, are you even aware. Tinubu will be dancing if obi gets the adc ticket.....you are here assigning figures like someone giving sweets to children.....75% in which south..... you even contradicted yourself by assigning 25% to him in the core north...that means 75% for tinubu over there which is more than 75% in the south......NC support for obi is only among the core xtian states and tinubu has also made huge inroads three too......obi is easier to deal with than atiku thats a fact.....elections isnt about online rants. |
| Re: My Problem With Obi/kwankwaso Ticket by franchasng: 2:55pm On Apr 19 |
Omowale2023:Obi will win but he cannot defend his mandate against Tinubu an incumbent President. Peter Obi will definitely win but Tinubu and INEC will rig it and nobody will fight for Obi, but if it's Atiku/Obi, Northerners will defend the mandate because Atiku/Obi will win Tinubu too. So it's beyond winning. We are focused on how to protect the winning from Tinubu's rigging plans and mercenaries as incumbent President |
| Re: My Problem With Obi/kwankwaso Ticket by lawani(m): 5:23pm On Apr 19 |
franchasng:It is actually SE, SW and SS that can defend something because they have oil and can shut the flow down. However the country can probably survive without oil presently. If INEC can rig like you say, why were they not able to rig against Obi in the SE? INEC can't rig, it is politicians that rig. If Tinubu and his cohorts rig and his opponents don't want him to rule, what they can do is break up the country. |
