it’s the defensive reactions, assumptions, instant counterattacks and threats anytime the phrase trends that I am are talking about.

And notice how you immediately turned a general observation into a courtroom challenge demanding evidence like the phrase personally touched a nerve. That overreaction is exactly why people say: if ‘vote wisely’ feels targeted, maybe deep down you already know who voters are being warned against

"Vote wisely" means to assess the candidates and select the one you think is best to govern. The one who gets angry is the one who is voting.based on religion...tribe... the rice bribe he received etc.....not on merit ..and he knows that his guy is an idiot .He knows he wouldn't be voting wisely..

This is the problem again OP.

The term 'vote wisely' is relative. We all have our different choices, principles, morals, perspectives, etc. Different factors influence different people's choices when voting.

What you op consider a wise choice may not be a wise choice for me. The problem arises when some of us try to use emotional blackmail on others simply because they have personal preferences or choice.

There are people who see Atiku as a wise choice, some see Tinubu as wise choice, some Obi is their wise choice. Some prefer none of them all but see Sowore as a wise choice.

My final take is, our needs differ so are our choices. We all need to respect each others choices. That is freedom of choice. Choose your candidates, campaign for them, don't insult other people for their choices or try gaslight or blackmail them. Or wanting to coerce them through manipulative means to see your 'wise choice' as theirs too
