so a judge in 1976 when lawyers were very scarce would be asking for 50k as bribe?? The naira was stronger than the British pounds in 1976. A Lagos to London ticket in 1976 sold for less than a hundred naira. That ticket sells about 2- 2.5 million today . A brand new car that year was going for about 2,000 naira. That car today is around 50-80 million naira.
